Abstract: A fluid pressure control system engages the power take-off of a tractor-trailer combination vehicle equipped with air brakes while simultaneously applying the parking brakes of both the tractor and the trailer. However, when the vehicle is to be moved and the power take-off disengaged, the vehicle operator must, in addition to moving the power take-off control to the position disengaging the power take-off, must also operate the parking control valves which release the parking brakes on both the tractor and the trailer. Accordingly, the parking brakes cannot be inadvertently released by merely disengaging the power take-off control, although engagement of the power take-off control automatically sets or applies the parking brakes on both the tractor and the trailer.
Abstract: An apparatus for turning over copies supplied from a copying machine including first and second rollers arranged vertically to form a first nip portion through which copies are successively fed horizontally. A third roller is arranged beside the second roller to form a second nip portion therebetween, and a fourth roller is arranged beneath the third roller to form a third nip portion therebetween. A first sheet guide is provided which can be selectively projected into a copy feed path supplied from the first nip portion to divert the copy onto an inclined surface of a sheet guide member. An arcuate second sheet guide member is arranged between the second and third rollers in such a manner that a sheet fed from the first nip portion and diverted by the first sheet guide member into the sheet support member is fed from the second nip portion into the third nip portion.
Abstract: A transport device for paper sheets incorporates driven rollers which frictionally engage the paper sheets and are mounted on shafts arranged parallel with one another in the transport direction. Filaments extending in the transport direction are utilized to bias the paper sheets from below against the rollers. The filaments permit the paper sheets to glide or slide thereover and extend between the rollers in a lower tangential plane, said filaments being mounted elastically at one extremity thereof. A slight inclination of the shafts of the rollers causes the paper sheets to be transported while engaging a lateral guiding edge to accomplish transportation of said sheet in an accurately aligned manner.
Abstract: A hydraulic servo vehicle brake is provided with a pedal-actuated master cylinder (11) and a first brake circuit I is connected to the pressure chamber (76) subjected to the pressure exerted by the master piston (24). Between the brake pedal (16) and the master piston (24), a brake application valve (17) is arranged which, on actuation by the brake pedal (16), applies pressure medium supplied by a hydraulic pump (18) connected with a fluid reservoir (27) in a controlled manner to the master piston. A wheel slip-brake control unit is provided which, in the event of incipient slip of a vehicle wheel, automatically reduces the brake power at the relevant vehicle wheel to a value just enabling the wheel to rotate and which comprises a switching valve (21) which is also subjected to the controlled pressure and is normally closed and opens at incipient slip of the associated vehicle wheel in order to apply the controlled pressure to the pressure chamber on which the master piston acts.
Abstract: A bicycle brake assembly including a brake shoe member having a molded metallic backbone member formed as a framework of elongate generally rectangular form with a structurally reinforced portion having an aperture therethrough for receiving a stud member therein. The reinforced portion is provided with a concave surface surrounding the aperture, with friction pad brake shoe material molded about the backbone to form a brake shoe member. A washer having a matingly configured convex surface coacts with the concave surface during assembly to the arm to provide for adjustment.
Abstract: A sheet-separating device for separating individual sheets from a stack, for example in the printing machine includes pneumatically operated suction heads engageable with the uppermost sheet of the stack, a four-link transmission device effecting a vertical movement of the suction heads relative to the stack and having a swinging arm connected to the suction heads, and an oscillating device including a pivotable connecting rod connected to the suction heads, and a vertical slide connected to the connecting rod so that a limited oscillating horizontal movement is imparted to the suction heads in addition to the vertical movement.
