  • Patent number: 7883553
Abstract: A deformable and compressible active electrode dry film is manufactured from dry mixed dry active electrode material and dry binder powder. The electrode film and a current collector with a first surface may be stacked such that the first surface of the current collector is in contact with the dry film. The active electrode dry film and current collector may then be processed in a laminating device, such as a calendar. Lamination both densifies the active electrode film and bonds the film to the current collector.

  • Patent number: 7877867
Abstract: A resist having a predetermined thickness is formed on a printed circuit board except for portions of the printed circuit board that oppose a convex portion of a component when the component is mounted on the printed circuit board. A silk screen printed layer having a predetermined thickness is formed on the resist. Thereafter, a concave portion of the component is bonded to the silk screen printed layer using double coated tape having a predetermined thickness. The component is mounted such that the convex portions of the component oppose the portions of the printed circuit board that do not have a resist formed thereon. The sum of the thicknesses of the resist, the silk screen printed layer and the double coated tape is larger than a height difference between the concave portion and the convex portion of the component.

  • Patent number: 7874061
Abstract: A yoke is produced by rolling up Zn—Al—Mg platinized steel plate of corrosion-resistance treatment where both ends thereof are tightly mated. On the outer peripheral surface of the yoke, plural linear grooves extending in the axis direction of the yoke are formed at a constant interval in the rolling step. Because the steel plate of corrosion-resistance treatment is prepared before initiating the rolling step, it is not necessary to perform coating and electroplating after making a cylindrical shaped yoke, namely, not necessary to perform any coating and electroplating after making the yoke, and the grooves are not filled with reaction products. This increases the radiation capability of the yoke because of increase of the entire surface area of the yoke. The Zn—Al—Mg platinized steel has a silver color and hardly absorbs radiant heat from an engine of a vehicle, and suppresses the increasing of the yoke temperature.

  • Patent number: 7870658
Abstract: A method for sheathing an armature for electric machines, in which a stack of lamellae that is equipped with grooves for armature windings is mounted on an armature shaft by means of a bore and is provided with at least one groove insulation with the aid of the sheathing process. The sheathing plastic flows through ducts that extend along the bore of the stack and the armature shaft. The plastic is molded in only on a first face of the stack and flows into the grooves and through the ducts. The plastic invades the grooves also from the second face after being discharged from the ducts and converges with the plastic discharged from the first face. The method implements fixing and insulation of the grooves while the groove insulation is provided with a minimum layer thickness for such sheathings at the bottom thereof in order to allow for maximum copper fillings.

  • Patent number: 7866015
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of a method of forming a capacitor with inter-digitated vertical plates such that the effective gap distance between plates is reduced. This gap width reduction significantly increases the capacitance density of the capacitor. Gap width reduction is accomplished during back end of the line processing by masking connecting points with nodes, by etching the dielectric material from between the vertical plates and by etching a sacrificial material from below the vertical plates. Etching of the dielectric material forms air gaps and various techniques can be used to cause the plates to collapse in on these air gaps, once the sacrificial material is removed. Any remaining air gaps can be filled by depositing a second dielectric material (e.g., a high k dielectric), which will further increase the capacitance density and will encapsulate the capacitor in order to make the reduced distance between the vertical plates permanent.

  • Patent number: 7862900
Abstract: The invention concerns multilayered constructions useful in forming capacitors and resistors, which may be used in the manufacture of printed circuit boards and microelectronic devices. A thermosetting polymer layer or layers are attached directly onto a heat resistant film layer, specifically on the side(s) of the heat resistant film to be attached to an electrically conductive layer having an electrical resistance material layer thereon. Attaching the adhesive to the heat resistant film rather than the electrically conductive layer streamlines the manufacturing process, particularly in the formation of the electrical resistance material layer onto the electrically conductive layer. This also results in better precision and uniformity of the multilayered construction.

  • Patent number: 7854056
Abstract: The present invention has an object to propose a method of producing a rotor, capable of reliably fixing a magnet to a rotor core with resin and preventing breakage of the rotor core. The present invention includes a step of fixing a permanent magnet to a rotor core by injecting molten resin into a slot by injection molding on the condition that, assuming that: a dimension between an end surface of the rotor core and an end surface of the permanent magnet is a core end surface-magnet interval; and a minimum value of a dimension between an inner surface of the slot and a side surface of the permanent magnet, allowing the molten resin to fully fill a clearance between the inner surface of the slot and the side surface of the permanent magnet by injecting the resin into the slot through a cylinder, is a minimum slot-magnet interval value, and a value of the core end surface-magnet interval is equal to or larger than the minimum slot-magnet interval value.

  • Patent number: 7849583
Abstract: A microphone manufacturing method that includes forming an etching protective film on a surface of a semiconductor substrate, opening an etching window through the etching protective film, and forming a sacrifice layer in the etching window and also on an upper face of the etching protective film. The method includes forming a vibration film above said sacrifice layer and starting an etching process of said sacrifice layer through a preformed port at a location wherein said sacrifice layer is sandwiched by said vibration film and the etching protective film and located apart from the etching window. The etching process uses an etchant to which the etching protective film is resistant, to open the etching window. The method includes crystal anisotropically etching said semiconductor substrate through the port and the etching window by using an etchant to which the etching protective film is resistant so that a cavity is formed.

  • Patent number: 7845076
Abstract: Re-machining a generator rotor tooth dovetail results in a transition zone at an end of the partial re-machined cut, between a newly cut load surface and an original load surface of the rotor tooth. The transition zone is susceptible to stresses that may adversely affect the fatigue strength of the rotor tooth. These stresses can be reduced by the steps of (a) forming at least one axial undercut stress relief groove across the transition zone between the newly cut load surface and the original load surface, (b) cutting and shaping a wedge that will fit in the transition zone, and (c) securing the wedge across the transition zone.
