  • Patent number: 4759691
Abstract: Compressed air driven vacuum pump assembly wherein the energy contained in compressed air is used to create a vacuum flow within a housing unit. Preferably, the modular housing unit includes a series of axially aligned air nozzles to provide a substantially straight air flow path through the housing unit. A series of axially aligned vacuum structures provide a vacuum flow path that is substantially parallel to the air flow path. The capacity of the vacuum pump is increased by elongating and enlarging the air and vacuum flow paths by means of the addition of modular housing units. The vacuum pump assembly includes an external muffler to dampen the air flow as it exits the housing unit.

  • Patent number: 4756669
Abstract: An air compressor pressure adjustment device designed such that any values between two set points are determined and used as first and second standard values. When the air pressure in the reservoir decreases to the first standard value the air compressor is driven at a low speed. When the air pressure increases in the reservoir and reaches an upper limit set point the compressor is turned off. When this air pressure decreases to less than the lower limit set point, the air compressor is started once more.

  • Patent number: 4752188
Abstract: A probe is mounted on a water submersible pump housed within a transformer vault. The probe will extend into any water which accumulates in the bottom of the transformer vault enabling a conductive path to be established through an appropriate electric circuit to the pump motor to permit operation of the pump so that the water which is on the bottom of the vault can be safely pumped from the vault. As the water level falls as it is pumped, oily fluids, which are immiscible in the water and will normally rise to a level above the water level in the vault, will come in contact with the probe to form an electrical insulator to inactivate the circuit to disconnect a power source from the pump motor.

  • Patent number: 4749340
Abstract: A piston type compressor having a cylinder block in which a plurality of compression chambers permit a plurality of pistons to be reciprocated so as to compress a refrigerant sucked from a suction chamber formed in an end housing into the compression chambers through suction ports of a valve plate openably closed by a plurality of suction reed valves. The compressor also has a valve stop construction for stopping the movement of the suction reed valves when the valves reach the opening position thereof apart from the valve plate. The valve stop construction includes recessed seats formed in an axial end face of the cylinder block so as to permit a portion of the free end of respective suction reed valves to be first seated on the recessed seats, and to permit the remaining portion of the free end of the suction reed valves to be stably seated on the recessed seats. The gradual stoppage of the suction reed valves suppresses vibration of the valves and prevents noise.

  • Patent number: 4748895
Abstract: The former art provides multi-stroke hydrostatic motors, which perform at a single revolution of the rotor multiple inward and outward strokes of the pistons. A high torque was thereby obtained. The invention discovers, that the know multi-stroke motors have still relatively short piston strokes in relation to the diameter of the rotor. The invention increases the efficiency of multiple stroke motors by the provision of control communications to control the flow of fluid pressure into pockets open to the piston faces and cylinder walls, whereby the torque of the rotor is transferred from the pistons to the cylinder walls by high pressure fluid in the pockets. The invention also provides radial guide extensions to enlarge the stroke of the pistons in a given size and weight of the device combined with the partial movement of the pockets along the guide extensions.

  • Patent number: 4744730
Abstract: A downhole pump of the jet type is placed below the fluid level in a wellbore and is used to produce fluid from the wellbore by employment of a power fluid source located above the surface of the ground. The power fluid flows downhole to the pump and through the jet pump assembly to cause a pumping action. The jet pump includes a suction chamber formed about a nozzle assembly. The nozzle assembly is spaced from a venturi throat. The venturi throat diverges in a direction away from the nozzle. The nozzle is located close to the bottom of the pump adjacent the formation fluid inlet at a position which precludes contamination thereof with debris which may otherwise fall downhole into the nozzle. The power fluid exits from the nozzle and enters the inlet of the venturi, causing produced fluid to be pulled into the throat entrance and mixed with the power fluid.
