  • Patent number: 6715196
Abstract: A method of coating metallic substrates with weldable primer and at least one powder coating is provided by the present invention. The base powder coating contains flake pigments that align parallel to the surface when the powder coating is heated. Optionally, a clear top coating is applied over the base powder coating. Substrates coated by the method of coating are also provided. The method of coating allows substrates coated with weldable primer to be assembled into assemblies or finished parts by welding, and then to be coated with the powder basecoat and clear coat. The parts prepared have striking visual effects and performance comparable to conventional automotive parts but are prepared more efficiently and economically.

  • Patent number: 6715198
Abstract: A magnetic sensor of orthogonal flux-gate type is provided with a cylindrical core made of a soft magnetic material; an internal conductor that is placed inside the core; a detection coil wound up on the core; and an external conductor that is placed around the core and electrically connected to the internal conductor. A high-frequency current is allowed to flow through the internal core so that a magnetic field to be measured which resides around the detection coil is changed and the intensity and direction of the magnetic field to be measured is detected on the basis of an output of the detection coil. Since the external conductor is placed on the periphery of the core, it is possible to prevent the magnetic flux formed by the core from magnetizing any space, and consequently to concentrate the magnetic field on the core.

  • Patent number: 6711808
Abstract: A pinch grip hanger mechanism dispenses pinch grip hangers, one at a time, and then opens the pinch grips for insertion of a garment. The insertion of a garment triggers the closing of the pinch grips, and reciprocation of a hanger feed push plate to dispense another hanger. The device may also automatically attach size indicia to the hanger as the hanger is dispensed. The closing of the pinch grips is initiated by safety triggers, which are triggered by insertion of a garment. This provides a safety feature for the device, since the operator needs to use both hands to hold the garment taut for insertion. Thus, both hands are away from the device at the time the pinch grips are opened and closed.

  • Patent number: 6708383
Abstract: A free-state diameter, upon cutting each metal ring, is set so that when the ratio of a continuously variable transmission is a value in a TOP state and a metal ring receives a severe load, a corrected amplitude of a stress on an outer peripheral surface of the metal ring calculated from an amplitude and a middle value of the stress on the outer peripheral surface of the metal ring is equal to a corrected amplitude of a stress on an inner peripheral surface of the metal ring calculated from an amplitude and a middle value of the stress on the inner peripheral surface of the metal ring. Therefore, an appropriate free-state diameter is set in consideration of a stress based on a tensile load of the metal ring and a stress based on the bending load of the metal ring.

  • Patent number: 6708405
Abstract: A method is described for producing a conducting connection through insulating layers by way of a contact hole and conducting materials with which the contact hole is filled. The method permits the production of a contact hole resembling the shape of a wineglass, into which conducting filling material and barrier layers can be inserted without the known problems such as void formation, overetching trenches, and dielectric close-off. It is possible in this way, for example, to produce an electric connection between the diffusion zone of a selection transistor and the lower electrode of a storage capacitor of large-scale integrated DRAM and FeRAM components with the aid of only a few mask steps.

  • Patent number: 6704999
Abstract: When any of facilities of a film producing and packaging system suffers a failure, a film processing controller shuts off the film producing and packaging system. The operator repairs a failing facility and manually discharges a length of an elongate film which may possibly be defective. After the failing facility is repaired, the film processing controller is restarted to operate the film producing and packaging system, which then automatically discharges a length of the elongate film corresponding to a preset number of sized films. It is possible to easily and quickly discard a portion of the elongate film which has been made defective by the facility failure.

  • Patent number: 6705978
Abstract: The invention concerns a connecting structure (10) between a driving transmission (11) and a roll (100) driven through it. The driving transmission (11) includes an input shaft (12) in the drive, whereby through the input shaft (12) the drive is transferred to toothed gears and further to the roll jacket (100a) of the driven roll (100) to rotate it. The roll (100) includes a central static shaft (100b) and a bearing (G) to support it. In order to allow axial and radial motions of the roll's (100) roll jacket when the driving transmission (11) is in the fixed position, a seal (25) including a sliding ring (30) is fitted in between the driving transmission (11) and the roll (100).
