  • Patent number: 5343184
Abstract: An electric noise absorber comprising at least two ferrite pieces having abutting planes, at least two case members containing the ferrite pieces respectively and being closed by means of engagement members, and a spring member provided in at least one of the case members for pressing the ferrite pieces against each other when the case members are closed. Since the case members for keeping the ferrite pieces in appropriate positions and the spring member for pushing up the ferrite pieces for close contact are separately molded, the case members are bestowed with strength and the spring member with elasticity, both suitable for their own purposes. The case members requires no apertures for biasing members and therefore outside magnetic substance is prevented from contacting with the ferrite pieces contained in the case members.

  • Patent number: 5329268
Abstract: A transformer with a primary and a secondary core. The primary core is rectangular in shape with guide slots on the inside in the center of opposite legs and windings wound in opposition on the other two sides. The secondary core is rectangular in shape consisting of two V' shaped parts. A power end and a bypass end. The two legs of the secondary power core are shaped into a closed V' and the two legs of the secondary bypass core are shaped into an open V' to allow the legs of the bypass and power core halves to mesh. These two half cores are separated by a diamagnetic strip and bonded together with a low magnetic bonding agent. The power end of the secondary core contains the secondary windings. The complete secondary core is then inserted at a right angle through the guide slots in the primary core.

  • Patent number: 5300911
Abstract: A monolithic magnetic device having a plurality of transformer elements having single turn primaries and single turn secondaries fabricated on a plate of ferrite which has the outline of a ceramic leadless chip carrier. Each of the magnetic elements has a primary winding formed from a copper via plated on the ferrite. Each element's secondary is another copper via plated over an insulating layer formed over the first layer of copper. The elements' primaries are interconnected on the first copper layer and the elements' secondaries are interconnected on the second copper layer. The configuration and turns ratio of the transformer are determined by the series and or parallel interconnections of the primary and secondaries. Some of the interconnections can be provided by the next higher assembly level through the circuit card, with the same magnetic device providing many turns ratio combinations or values of inductors.

  • Patent number: 5296829
Abstract: A core-form transformer winding with liquid coolant flow diversion bands is disclosed. The apparatus includes a winding tube with a central longitudinal axis. A number of coil sections are axially displaced along the central longitudinal axis of the winding tube. Radial ducts are formed between the coil sections. Internal vertical ducts are formed within each of the coil sections. A liquid coolant is used to cool the windings during operation. Flow diversion bands are placed around every other coil section. The flow diversion bands generate a partial blockage of the liquid coolant, which produces a radial flow into one or more of the radial ducts, resulting in vertical flow through the internal vertical ducts.
