    Abstract: A scalable Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) detector, comprises an ordering block, a group interference suppression block, a core detector and a residual detector. The ordering block determines an order of the columns of a channel matrix including received streams based on the power thereof. The group interference suppression block coupled to the ordering block groups received streams into a core part and a residual part, the core part including a first received stream and a second received stream corresponding to the first two columns of the channel matrix in the order, the first received stream and the second received stream forming a received signal vector, and the residual part including the rest of the received streams. The core detector detects the core part based on a 2×2 Simplified Maximum Likelihood (SML) detection. The residual detector detects the residual part by Vertical Bell Laboratories Layered Space Time (VBLAST) detection.

    Abstract: An anti-thief electronic device capable of confirming respective existing statuses of a plurality of apparatuses coupled thereto and method thereof is disclosed. The anti-thief electronic device includes a first table, a second table, a micro control unit and an alert device. The first table stores respective initial existing statuses of the apparatuses coupled to the anti-thief electronic device as regular existing statuses. The second table stores respective existing statuses of the apparatuses periodically. The micro control unit periodically compares the second table with the first table to confirm whether the respective existing statuses of the apparatuses are changed or not. The alert device generates an alert if the respective existing statuses of the apparatuses are changed. Specifically, the micro control unit periodically queries an extended display identification data from the display for detecting the removal of the display.

    Abstract: A semiconductor component having a composite via structure with an enhanced aspect ratio and a method for manufacturing the semiconductor component. Vias having a first aspect ratio are formed in a contact layer disposed on a semiconductor substrate and filled with a metal. The metal is planarized and a dielectric layer is formed over the contact layer. Via extension structures having the same aspect ratio as those in the contact layer are formed in the dielectric layer and aligned with the vias in the contact layer. The vias in the dielectric layer are filled with metal and the metal is planarized. The contact vias in the contact layer and the dielectric layer cooperate to form a composite via structure having the enhanced aspect ratio. Additional dielectric layers having via structures can be included in the composite contact structure to further enhance the aspect ratio of the via structure.

    Abstract: A KVM switch system capable of communicating with a selected computer through a single cable is disclosed. Between the computer and the KVM switch system, keyboard/mouse data is transmitted and video data is received through a single cable. The KVM switch system includes a protocol controller, a graphic controller, a switch and a plurality of transceivers. The KVM switch system is coupled to plural computers. The protocol controller transforms keyboard/mouse signals into the keyboard/mouse data in a protocol standard and transforms the video data in the same protocol standard into video signals. The graphic controller receives the video signals from the protocol controller and transmits the video signals to a display. The switch routes the keyboard/mouse data and the video data according to a processor of the KVM switch system.

    Abstract: A non-contact method and system for analyzing tire conditions. The system includes an emitter source for emitting radiation signals towards a tire having a treaded surface between two sidewalls. A detector is provided to receive signals reflected by the tire in response to the emitted radiation signals. A data processing system, coupled to the emitter source and the detector, obtains geometrical information, such as height, of a plurality points on the tire based on the signals received from the detector. The data processing system determines a condition of the tire by comparing geometrical information for a designated portion of the plurality points with other portion points on the tire. A color-coded surface profile showing a height distribution of the tire is also generated to assist diagnosis of the tire.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) driver has the characteristic that using a voltage-switching control circuit to receive the liquid crystal positive voltage and the segment positive voltage generated by the driving voltage generating circuit. The voltage-switching control circuit respectively switches the liquid crystal positive voltage and the liquid crystal negative voltage to input to the common driver in different frame stages such that only one of the liquid crystal positive voltage and the liquid crystal negative voltage exists at the same time. Therefore, for the choice of the semiconductor manufacturing process for the LCD driver, the process with only half of the voltage-resistant can be chosen according to the original design of the circuit, and the supplying for the voltage needed by the segment driver and the common driver is unchanged.
