  • Publication number: 20160270711
Abstract: A portable VOG device is disclosed that will facilitate the effective and efficient screening for TBI in military personnel in forward deployed military settings or remote locations using minimally trained staff. This includes the establishment of a protocol that will provide cost effective pre-screening of military personnel prior to deployment to establish a baseline of brain function prior to possible future injury. The efficiency of the device will promote subsequent follow-up screening to assess the effectiveness of prescribed TBI treatment. Further protocols for diagnosis and rehabilitation applications using the same virtual reality portable device will allow more advanced usage for clinicians providing ongoing evaluation and treatment.

  • Publication number: 20160261470
Abstract: Systems and methods for scoring a domain web traffic based on DNS traffic requests received at an authoritative name server to resolve the domain name. A request to resolve the domain name is received at an authoritative name server. A counter, such as a server counter or a hit counter, for the domain name is incremented based on the received request. A score, such as a domain traffic score or a domain rank, is calculated based upon a count of the counter. Calculating the score may also include applying a weighting factor to the counters based on information about a requesting set of resolvers and other domains/websites that may be linking and driving traffic to the domain whose traffic score is being calculated. Examples of relevant set of resolvers information may include location, traffic levels, traffic type and architecture of the set of resolvers.

  • Publication number: 20160255348
Abstract: A method of encoding digital content is provided that allows for adaptive joint bitrate allocation that allocates bits for audio and video. The method includes: determining an overall transport stream bitrate, determining a target audio bitrate for each audio stream based on their complexity, determining a portion of the overall transport stream bitrate available for video streams by subtracting the sum of the target audio bitrates from the overall transport stream bitrate, allocating a target video bitrate for each video streams out of the portion of the overall transport stream bitrate available for video streams, encoding audio streams at the target audio bitrates, encoding video streams at the target video bitrates, and combining the audio streams and video streams with a multiplexor into a transport stream.

  • Patent number: 9422302
Abstract: An opioid narcotics used for the treatment of moderate-to-severe pain that primarily exert their analgesic effects through ? receptors. Although, traditional ? agonists can cause undesired side effects, including tolerance, addition of ? antagonists can attenuate said side effects. The present invention includes 4a,9-dihydroxy-7a-(hydroxymethyl)-3-methyl-2,3,4,4a,5,6-hexahydro-1H-4,12-methanobenzofuro[3,2-e]isoquinolin-7(7aH)-one (UMB 425) a 5,14-bridged morphinan-based orvinol precursor, along with analogs of morphine, dihydromorphine, hydromorphone, codeine, dihydrocodeine, hydrocodone and ethylmorphine. Although UMB 425 lacks ?-specific motifs, conformationally sampled pharmacophore models for ? and ? receptors predict it to have efficacy similar to morphine at ? receptors and similar to naltrexone at ? receptors, due to the compound sampling conformations in which the hydroxyl moiety interacts with the receptors similar to orvinols.

  • Publication number: 20160207413
Abstract: A network includes vehicle(s) having a battery pack and vehicle telematics unit (VTU), and a server. A server in communication with the VTUs and remote client device(s) is programmed to receive vehicle information from the VTU, including an energy throughput value defined by charging power delivered to the battery pack during an active charging event. The server receives utility information and a load adjustment request from the remote client device, including a power interrupt permission status describing whether interruption of power by a host of the client device is permitted. Charging control signals are transmitted in response to the load adjustment request to enable or postpone the charging event. Energy throughput is recorded over multiple active charging events, which are then combined or aggregated. Output data, e.g., a bill or report describing the aggregated energy throughput values, may be generated by the server. A method and server are also disclosed.

Abstract: Described herein are methods directed to determining the carrier status or genotype of a subject. Described herein is a method that combines experimental and computational approaches to resolve the structure of genomic loci (i.e., the genotype) whose sequences are highly homologous to other sequences in the genome. In particular, the determination of carrier status and/or copy number of a gene in a subject, wherein the gene has a corresponding highly homologous homolog, e.g., gene or pseudogene, utilizes Next Generation Sequencing.
