  • Publication number: 20110179228
Abstract: Various embodiments for storing a logical object are provided. In one such embodiment, by way of example only, incoming data is divided corresponding to a logical data object into a plurality of independent streams, associating each data chunk of a plurality of obtained data chunks with a corresponding stream among the plurality of independent streams. At least one of the obtained data chunks and derivatives thereof is sequentially accommodated in accordance with an order the obtained chunks are received, while keeping the association with the corresponding streams. A global index is generated as a single meta-data stream accommodated in the logical data object and comprising information common to the plurality of independent streams and related to mapping between data in the logical data object and the obtained data chunks.

  • Publication number: 20110179078
Abstract: Information regarding a mobile user's context including but not limited to current mobile activity, social relations and associations history, and past mobile, search and browsing history is identified and converted to metadata. Metadata is also applied to content sources delivering content to a search engine or personalized content engine. The metadata is used in part to determine the relative display of content objects delivered to the mobile user as search results or a personalized aggregated information resource, e.g., home page. The user may select information, from one or more entities or search results or as presented to the user in other contexts, to be automatically delivered to the user's home page as a content feed including multiple content objects or content feeds associated with an entity. Information regarding mobile user activity is compiled and used to permit publishers and advertisers to identify target candidates to receive advertisements or marketing materials.

  • Patent number: 7983487
Abstract: A method and system determines a 3D pose of an object in a scene. Depth edges are determined from a set of images acquired of a scene including multiple objects while varying illumination in the scene. The depth edges are linked to form contours. The images are segmented into regions according to the contours. An occlusion graph is constructed using the regions. The occlusion graph includes a source node representing an unoccluded region of an unoccluded object in scene. The contour associated with the unoccluded region is compared with a set of silhouettes of the objects, in which each silhouette has a known pose. The known pose of a best matching silhouette is selected as the pose of the unoccluded object.

  • Publication number: 20110173046
Abstract: A comparison method and system including retrieving by a computer, first data associated with first interactions between users associated with social networks. The computing system generates a first graph illustrating the first interactions. The computing system identifies targeted users associated with a marketing plan for the users. The computing system enables the marketing plan and retrieves second data associated with second interactions between the users. The computing system generates a second graph illustrating the second interactions, compares the second graph to the first graph, and generates a third graph illustrating first order differences between the first interactions and the second interactions.

  • Publication number: 20110169931
Abstract: An in-vivo imaging device incorporating a double field of view imaging system, having a wide field of view with moderate magnification, and a narrow field of view with substantially higher magnification, axially superimposed thereon. A single imaging array is used for both fields of view. At least some of the optical elements are shared between both of the two different field of view imaging systems. The imaging elements for the high magnification system, being of substantially smaller diameters than those of the low magnification system, are disposed coaxially with the imaging elements of the low magnification system, and can thus use the same imaging array without the need for deflection mirrors, beam combiners or motion systems. Their location on the axis of the low magnification system means that a small part of the imaging plane, around its central axis, is blocked out by the high magnification components.

  • Patent number: 7978667
Abstract: A mesh network communication system includes a plurality of access points connected to a wireless local area network (WLAN) controller where at least one of the plurality access points is a detection access point (DAP) that receives reverse link (RL) wireless wide area network (WWAN) signals transmitted from a multi-mode wireless communication device. Based on an intercepted RL WWAN signal, the DAP forwards reverse link (RL) information to the WLAN controller. Based on the RL information, the WLAN controller generates and sends, to the WWAN communication system, a device to access point association list (device-AP association list) comprising one or more device identifiers associated with one or more target access point identifier. The device identifier uniquely identifies a multi-mode wireless communication device within a maximum proximity of a target access point identified by the target access point identifier.

  • Publication number: 20110166745
Abstract: An automated start/stop system for a vehicle comprises an auto-stop module, a diagnostic module, and an auto-start module. The auto-stop module selectively initiates an auto-stop event and shuts down an engine while the vehicle is running. The diagnostic module selectively diagnoses a fault in a clutch pedal position sensor of the vehicle. The auto-start module, while the vehicle is running and the engine is shut down, selectively initiates an auto-start event after the fault has been diagnosed when current drawn by a starter motor is less than a predetermined maximum starting current.
