  • Patent number: 10225239
Abstract: We describe a method, device and system for communicating to a peer via a network. A segment is received formatted according to a first network protocol, the received segment having clear-text payload data in a payload portion of the received segment. A cryptographic operation is performed on at least a portion of the clear-text payload data of the received segment, according to a cryptographic protocol, and a PDU is embedded according to the cryptographic protocol into the payload portion of the received segment. Header data, in a header portion of the received segment, is to account for a change to the received segment resulting from the cryptographic operation performance. The received segment, having the embedded PDU according to the cryptographic protocol and the adjusted header data, is transmitted to a peer via the network.

  • Publication number: 20190045283
Abstract: An optical signal module including a driver and an optical signal module. The driver includes a differential pair configured to receive and process an input signal to create a drive signal. A modulation current source provides a modulation current to the differential pair. One or more termination resistors connected to the differential pair for impedance matching. A first switch, responsive to a first control signal, maintains charge on a charge storage device. The optical signal module includes an optical signal generator arranged between a supply voltage node and a bias current node. The optical signal generator receives the drive signal and generates an optical signal representing the input signal. A second switch is between a supply voltage node the bias current node. The second switch, responsive to second control signal, selectively establishes a short between the supply voltage node the bias current node.

  • Publication number: 20190037010
Abstract: A single centralized metadata repository for an entire enterprise can maintain the metadata pertaining to various different web service applications on application servers of heterogeneous types within the enterprise. The metadata items stored in the centralized repository all can be stored in a same canonical format that can be expected and understood by all metadata accessors. The metadata maintained within the central repository can be given a life span that is linked with the life span of the web service application to which that metadata pertains. When a web service application is deployed on an application server, metadata pertaining to that webservice can be pushed automatically to the central repository for storage. When such a web service application is undeployed from an application server, the metadata pertaining to that webservice can be removed automatically from the central repository so as not to waste storage space.

  • Patent number: 10099650
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to adjusting a shear pin to minimize an impact force felt by an object in a collision with a vehicle. For example, one or more second computing devices may receive, from one or more first computing devices, information indicating that an impact with an object is imminent. In response to the received information, the second computing devices may determine a first shear force for a first shear pin, wherein the first shear force is a desired amount of shear force necessary to break the first shear pin. The second computing devices may send a triggering signal to activate an actuator prior to an impact with the identified impact target. The actuator, in response to receiving the triggering signal, may adjust the first shear pin in a first pinhole, so the first shear pin will break at the first shear force.

  • Publication number: 20180198764
Abstract: The method provides a multi system trust chain between a client system and a remote system in a secure connection, wherein an intermediary system associated with the network flow path serves as a signing entity to establish an end to end transitive trust. The intermediate system is a corroborative entity in the operations technology (OT) realm of the client system. The remote system serves as the host for a plurality of services in the information technology (IT) realm. A two way handshake during the initial secure exchange protocol between a local client application and a remote service is extended to a three way handshake that includes a nonce issued by the remote service on the remote system and a digital signature for the nonce issued by a signature service on an associated intermediate system. The nonce signature is verified authoritatively at the remote system based on the signing certificate of the intermediate system for explicit proof of association.

  • Publication number: 20180062747
Abstract: An optic module for use with a host is disclosed that includes a port configured to accept an optical connector connected to fiber optic cables which carry optic signals. A receiver module is configured to receive an incoming optic signal and convert the received optic signal to a received electrical signal while a transimpedance amplifier amplifies the received electrical signal. An electrical interface is configured to electrically interface the optic module with the host thereby providing the amplified received electrical signal to a digital signal processor in the host. On the transmit side, an optic device driver receives an outgoing electrical signal from the host, after processing by a digital signal processor in the host, for amplification while a transmit module is configured to convert the outgoing electrical signal to an outgoing optic signal and transmit the outgoing optic signal on an optic fiber.
