  • Patent number: 7237460
Abstract: A reversible ratchet-type wrench includes a handle and a head extended from the handle and having a hole. A web is defined between the handle and the head, and a cavity is defined in the web and communicated with the hole. The web further includes a compartment having a first end communicated with the cavity and a second end communicated with outside, thereby leaving a bridge in the web. A drive member is rotatably mounted in the hole of the head. A pawl is mounted in the cavity and includes a first side with ratchet teeth for releasably engaging with teeth on an outer periphery of the drive member. A switch member includes a turn-piece for manual operation and an actuating plate extended from the turn-piece and rotatably received in the second end of the compartment of the head. The switch member is switchable between two positions for changing ratcheting direction of the drive member.

  • Publication number: 20070144312
Abstract: A wrench includes a body having two ends and a handle between the ends of the body. At least one of the ends of the body can be used for driving an object. The handle includes an upper face and a lower face opposite to the upper face. An anti-slipping section is formed on each of two end portions of the upper face and the lower face of the handle. Each anti-slipping section includes a plurality of embossed patterns. Since each anti-slipping section extends across the end portions of the handle, the user's hand will not slip during operation of the wrench even though there is oil on the user's hand.

  • Publication number: 20070107552
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a wrench handle includes preheating a work piece made of metal, with a layer of carbon scale being generated on the work piece during preheating. The preheated work piece is forged/pressed to form a wrench handle, with the carbon scale on the work piece being forged into upper and lower faces of the wrench handle. An indentation is formed on each of the upper and lower faces of the wrench handle. The carbon scale is then removed, leaving pits in the upper and lower faces of the wrench handle, with the pits concealed by the indentation sections.

A first pivotal coupling portion is formed on an end face of the first handle part and includes two receptacles each receiving a positioning member. The second handle part includes an end face with a second pivotal coupling portion pivotally engaged with the first pivotal coupling portion. A positioning hole extends from a wall of the second pivotal coupling portion. One of the positioning members is biased into a retaining section of the positioning hole to position the second handle part. A control member is mounted in the positioning hole and movable to urge the positioning member in the receptacle aligned with the positioning hole into the receptacle, allowing the screwdriver handle to be switchable between an in-line state and an angled-state.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a wrench handle includes preheating a work piece made of metal, with a layer of carbon scale being generated on the work piece during preheating. The work piece is forged to form a wrench handle, with the carbon scale on the work piece being forged into a surface of the wrench handle during forging. The carbon scale is then removed, leaving a pitted area with a plurality of pits in the surface of the wrench handle. Finally, a concealment treatment is carried out, wherein the pitted area of the surface of the wrench handle is pressed inward to form an indentation section on the surface of the wrench handle for covering the pits.

  • Publication number: 20070062347
Abstract: A wrench includes a casing having a compartment, a rod rotatably received in the casing and having an end for coupling with a drive member for driving a fastener, an adjusting member mounted in the rod, and an elastic element for retaining the rod mounted between the adjusting member and the casing. When a rotational force applied to the casing is smaller than an engaging force between the casing and the elastic element, the rod turns together with the casing for tightening the fastener. When the rotational force applied to the casing is greater than the engaging force between the casing and the elastic element, the casing slides relative to the rod without turning the fastener. The adjusting member is adjustable in position relative to the casing to thereby change the engaging force between the casing and the elastic element.

  • Publication number: 20070050956
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus for carrying tools. The apparatus includes a body and a latch. The body includes a pivotal connection end, an abutment end separated from the pivotal connection end and a hanging section formed between the pivotal connection end and the abutment end. The hanging section includes a rough surface for providing adequate friction between itself and the tools so that the movement of the tools on the hanging section is limited and that the tools can be put on and taken from the hanging section in a convenient and fast manner. The latch includes a pivotal connection end pivotally connected to the pivotal connection end of the body and an abutment end for abutment against the abutment end of the body in an elastic manner.

  • Patent number: 7171875
Abstract: A wrench includes a handle, a head having a pivotal portion pivotably connected to an end of the handle, and a retaining mechanism. The pivotal portion of the head includes two end portions and an intermediate portion between the end portions. The intermediate portion includes an arcuate outer surface section that has teeth to be releasably engaged with the retaining mechanism, allowing the head to be pivotally moved to a desired position relative to the handle and retaining the head in the desired position. Thus, the thickness of the respective end portion of the pivotal portion of the head is not reduced, preventing damage to the torque-bearing section in the respective end portion of the pivotal portion during operation.

  • Publication number: 20060288531
Abstract: A tool handle includes a body, a bit carrier, and an actuating member. An end of the body includes a compartment. One of two lateral sides of the body has an opening in communication with the compartment. The bit carrier is mounted in the compartment of the body and movable relative to the body in a longitudinal direction. The bit carrier includes a bit-holding section for holding at least one bit. A retaining member is mounted to the bit carrier for retaining the bit carrier to the body. The actuating member is mounted in the opening of the body. The actuating member is operable to move the bit carrier from a storage position to an ejected position not falling out of the body and to impart a frictional force between the retaining member and the body to prevent the bit carrier from falling out of the body.

  • Patent number: 7124900
Abstract: A hanger is disclosed for a tool in the form of a socket and that includes a recess. The hanger includes a board, two locking elements extending from the board and a key located between the locking elements. The board includes an aperture so that it can be hung on an object secured to a wall. The key is moved between a non-locking position and a locking position. In the non-locking position, the key allows the locking elements to be biased toward each other so that they can be inserted in the recess of the socket. In the locking position, the key prevents biasing of the locking elements toward each other so that they cannot be pulled from the recess of the socket.
