  • Publication number: 20050217438
Abstract: A wrench includes a body and a grip member. The body includes a head on an end thereof and a handle on another end thereof. The handle includes two opposed sidewalls and a recessed portion between the sidewalls. The handle further includes a grasping section, with the recessed portion being at least partially located in the grasping section. The grip member is securely attached to the recessed portion of the handle. Thus, the driving force from the user can be effectively transmitted to the head of the body, as the sidewalls of the handle withstand most part of the driving force. Preferably, each sidewall of the handle extends across a central line of a height of the combined handle/grip member.

  • Patent number: 6951155
Abstract: A hook screw driver includes a first body, a second body having a first end pivotally connected to a first end of the first body, and a tightening member. The tightening member extends along a direction substantially perpendicular to an extending direction of the first body and an extending direction of the second body. The tightening member is movable between a first position at which a second end of the first body is spaced from a second end of the second body and a second position at which the second end of the first body presses against the first end of the second body, thereby securely holding a hook portion of a hook screw placed between the second end of the first body and the second end of the second body.

  • Patent number: 6945141
Abstract: A reversible ratchet type wrench includes a handle and a box end extending from an end of the handle and having a hole. A compartment is defined in a peripheral wall defining the hole of the box end and communicated with the hole. A receiving hole extends from a side of the box end toward the other side of the box end but spaced from the other side of the box end. The receiving hole intersects the compartment. A bulge portion is formed in a conjunctive area between the handle and the box end. A slot is defined in the bulge portion and communicated with the receiving hole.

  • Patent number: 6907990
Abstract: A tool try-on device includes a body and a frictional retaining member mounted to the body. The frictional retaining member and the body together define a compartment for receiving a rotatable member rotatably mounted to an end of a handle of a tool. The frictional retaining member exerts a frictional force to an outer surface of the rotatable member of the tool for retaining the rotatable member in place unless a rotational force greater than the frictional force is applied to the handle of the tool in a ratcheting direction.

  • Publication number: 20050116130
Abstract: A hanger is disclosed for a tool. The socket includes a recess. The hanger includes a board, two locking elements extending from the board and a key located between the locking elements. The board includes an aperture so that it can be hung on an object secured to a wall. The key is moved between a non-locking position and a locking position. In the non-locking position, the key allows the locking elements to be biased toward each other so that they can be inserted in the recess of the socket. In the locking position, the key prevents biasing of the locking elements toward each other so that they cannot be pulled from the recess of the socket.

  • Publication number: 20050102810
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a wrench having a hollow handle includes preparing a head having an engaging portion, necking an end of a metal tubular member, closing another end of the metal tubular member, and fusing the end of the metal tubular member and the head together, forming a wrench having a hollow handle. The step of fusing may be performed before the step of closing. The method may further include a step of proceeding at least one of grinding, patching, and polishing an outer periphery of the hollow handle. Next, the hollow handle may be heat processed to improve the strength and hardness of the tubular member. Then, the surface of the tubular member may be finished.

  • Publication number: 20050103169
Abstract: A wrench includes a head. The head defines a space in order to receive an object. The wall of the space comprises a plurality of facets, a corner between any adjacent two of the facets and a restraint extending on each of the facets. Each of the restraints does not cover any of the corners.

  • Publication number: 20050097995
Abstract: A wrench combination includes a wrench and a drive member. An inner protrusion is formed on a polygonal inner periphery of a box end of the wrench. The drive member includes an engaging portion removably mounted in the box end and engaged with the polygonal inner periphery, with an end of the drive member being located outside the box end. The engaging portion includes a retaining section. A retaining member is mounted on the drive member. Each of the retaining section and the retaining member has an outer diameter greater than a diameter of a hole delimited by the inner protrusion. The retaining section and the retaining member respectively abut against two end faces of the inner protrusion to position the drive member. The retaining member is compressible to be smaller than the diameter of the hole delimited by the inner protrusion.

  • Patent number: 6886434
Abstract: A wrench includes a drive member for driving a fastener, a retainer securely engaged with the drive member to move therewith, and a casing having a compartment for accommodating the retainer. The casing includes a retaining section defining a retaining space for retaining the retainer in place. When a rotational force applied to the casing is smaller than an engaging force between the retaining section of the casing and a retaining device that is attached between the retaining section and the retainer, the retainer and the rod are turned to thereby turn the fastener. When a rotational force applied to the casing is greater than the engaging force, the casing slides while the retainer and the rod are not turned. The drive member is releasably engaged with the retainer, allowing the wrench to be used with various types of drive members for driving various types of fasteners.

  • Publication number: 20050072703
Abstract: A tool receiving device includes a first member made of a deformable material, a second member made of a deformable material, and at least one retaining member separate from the first member and the second member. The first member includes at least one tool receiving compartment and at least one groove in a side thereof. The second member includes at least one hole that is aligned with the groove when the second member is engaged with the first member and thus covers the tool receiving compartment and the groove. The retaining member can be mounted into the hole of the second member and the groove of the first member and is turnable from between a non-retaining position allowing disengagement of the second member from the first member and a retaining position not allowing disengagement of the second member from the first member.

The first member includes at least one tool receiving compartment and at least one groove in a side thereof. The second member includes at least one hole that is aligned with the groove when the second member is engaged with the first member. A perimeter wall delimiting the groove deform outward and in friction contact with the retaining member when the retaining member is mounted in the groove of the hollow protrusion of the second member, thereby preventing the second member from being disengaged from the first member. The second member is separable from the first member when the retaining member is removed from the hole of the second member.

  • Patent number: 6857527
Abstract: A tool rack includes a board, a number of tool holding members for holding tools, and a number of upwardly extending hooks. The tools can be simply hung up to the upwardly extending hooks when used indoors. The upwardly extending hooks not only prevent tools from falling from the tool rack but also provide convenient retrieval of the tools of the type having at least one box end. Each tool holding member and the board has a space therebetween. A strap is simultaneously slid into the spaces along a direction transverse to an extending direction of each tool and extended over all of the tools, thereby rapidly tying up all tools on the tool rack. A rotary member is provided on the board, allowing try-on of the tools.
