  • Publication number: 20160183265
Abstract: A wireless telecommunication system includes base stations for communicating with terminal devices. One or more base stations support a power boost operating mode in which a base station's available transmission power is concentrated in a subset of its available transmission resources to provide enhanced transmission powers as compared to transmission powers on these transmission resources when the base station is not operating in the power boost mode. A base station establishes an extent to which one or more base stations in the wireless telecommunications system support the power boost operating mode conveys an indication of this to a terminal device. The terminal device receives the indication and uses the corresponding information to control its acquisition of a base station of the wireless telecommunication system, for example by taking account of which base stations support power boosting and/or when power boosting is supported during a cell attach procedure.

  • Patent number: 9313670
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to permit a neighbor list to be updated with a detected set cell such that the detected set cell may thereafter be utilized for determining a frequency quality estimate or for inter-frequency measurements and/or considered for inclusion in a virtual active set. From a network perspective, the method may receive information regarding a detected cell that is not on a neighbor list for a user equipment (UE) and that operates at a non-used frequency and may cause a message to be transmitted to the UE adding the detected cell to the neighbor list. From a UE perspective, the method may cause information to be provided regarding a detected cell that is not on a neighbor list and that operates at a non-used frequency and may thereafter receive a message adding the detected cell to the neighbor list.

  • Publication number: 20160084620
Abstract: A system and method for arrow fletching by bonding vanes to a vinyl wrap allows for efficient, accurate fletching of arrows. The vanes are placed into a number of slits positioned on a jig plate. The jig plate in a holder is placed into a heat press, thereby bonding the vanes to the vinyl wrapping and creating a fletched arrow wrap. Once the fletched arrow wraps are cooled they are placed in a fletching jig, with an adhesive coating on the backside of the wrap exposed by removing a paper backing. The shaft of each arrow is rolled over the adhesive coating such that the wrap becomes affixed to the shaft of the arrow, thereby fletching the shaft.

  • Patent number: 9295093
Abstract: Embodiments include a method by which a network equipment efficiently directs a device attempting a connection to a congested or limited-capacity portion of a network to another resource (e.g., cell, frequency, and/or RAT) where the attempt is more likely to be successful. This method utilizes a connection reject message that comprises a small amount of information pointing to information broadcast in system information (SI) messages. The reject message may be used with existing or, alternately, enhanced SI messages comprising tags that resolve the pointer information in the reject message. Embodiments also include methods by which a device redirects to a resource based on the information contained in the reject and SI messages. Other embodiments include methods by which a device deprioritizes a resource during cell reselection based on information contained in the reject and SI messages. Embodiments include wireless communication devices, network equipment, or computer-readable media embodying these methods.

  • Patent number: 9288723
Abstract: A serving cell sends to user equipments (UEs) indications of frequency bands supported by neighbor cells/frequencies, at least one individual neighbor cell/frequency supporting a plurality of frequency bands. The neighbor cells/frequencies are filtered by the UE to retain only those that are indicated to support a frequency band or frequency bands which are also supported by the UE. The sent indications comprise, for each respective neighbor cell/frequency, one absolute radio frequency channel number (ARFCN) associated with the respective neighbor cell/frequency and the frequency band or bands associated with the respective neighbor cell/frequency. Examples are given of various system information blocks for sending the frequency band indications to the UE. In one embodiment they are arranged in an information element IE having an entry for each of the neighbor cells/frequencies and a list of frequency bands for each entry.

  • Publication number: 20160069571
Abstract: An electromagnetic interference (EMI) shield for gas cooktops is disclosed herein. The EMI shield protects electromagnetic fields output by a high voltage spark ignition system from interfering with sensitive low voltage controls for the cooktop. Accordingly, the low voltage controls and similar elements are mounted on one side of the EMI shield and the high voltage spark ignition system, burners, and similar elements are mounted on another side of the EMI shield. In order to connect elements on each side of the EMI shield as may be necessary (e.g., electrical wires and gas tubing), the EMI shield can have a plurality of small openings. The EMI shield may also provide a mount for controls and/or a user interface for displaying information and controlling the cooktop.

  • Publication number: 20160055377
Abstract: A method of identifying and suggesting objects for a user within a user's field of vision of a personal imaging system. A user's field of vision within the system is monitored. The personal imaging system requests feedback regarding objects that are focused on within the user's field of vision. The feedback from the user is associated with the user's profile which includes at least demographics. A real-time correlation of the user's profile and demographics with other users is performed to provide a correlation interest score. The interest score may be used to recommend and direct the user's attention to other objects within the user's field of vision that the user may be interested in.

  • Patent number: 9220038
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to determine if a measurement event is satisfied by one or more detected cells and to correspondingly advise the network to facilitate consideration of whether a handover or cell reselection procedure is desired. The network may, in turn, determine whether the detected cell(s) that satisfied the measurement event are appropriate to be considered in conjunction with a handover or cell reselection procedure, such as by being in the same public land mobile network (PLMN) as opposed to being in a different PLMN and/or cells that are barred or reserved for operator use. Thus, the network may take advantage of opportunities for handover or cell reselection offered by a detected cell, while still insuring that handover or cell reselection procedures remain limited to cells that are appropriate.
