  • Patent number: 11277832
Abstract: A network includes a first candidate pool of multiple upper-layer communication processing units and a second candidate pool of lower-layer communication processing units to support the split-layer processing. Initially, a first upper-layer processing unit and a first lower-layer processing unit in the network provide a first service over a wireless communication link established between a wireless access point and a communication device in a network. In response to receiving a request to support a second service, the network notifies the first upper-layer processing unit of the second service. If a combination of the first upper-layer processing unit and the first lower-layer processing unit cannot support the second service, the first upper-layer processing unit selects a second upper-layer processing unit. The selected second upper-layer processing unit selected from the first candidate pool is used in conjunction with the first lower-layer processing unit to support the second service.

  • Patent number: 11277097
Abstract: A power amplification system includes a Power Amplifier (PA) for amplifying an input RF signal. An adaptive bias circuit is configured to adaptively set a bias of the PA. The adaptive biasing circuit includes a gain expansion circuit, a gain compression circuit and a biasing circuit. The gain expansion circuit derives a gain-expansion control signal from the input RF signal. For a first sub-range of the input RF signal, the gain-expansion control signal has a larger dynamic range than the input RF signal. The gain compression circuit derives a gain-compression control signal from the input RF signal. For a second sub-range of the input RF signal having higher power levels than the first sub-range, the gain-compression control signal has a smaller dynamic range than the input RF signal. The biasing circuit sets the bias of the PA responsively to the gain-expansion control signal and the gain-compression control signal.

  • Publication number: 20220071578
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging system and methods of operating the system to minimize the degradation of projection images by metal in a scanned object. The methods determine the location of metal in the scanned object by making an initial low dose scan and then, using information obtained from the low dose scan, perform a second scan that may be used to create a reconstruction with reduced artifacts. The methods also calculate X-ray source and detector scan trajectories which minimize reconstruction artifacts and optimize image quality, especially when a region-of-interest is near metal in the scanned object. Additionally, the methods of the present invention calculate X-ray source and detector scan trajectories that maximize the angular range of X-rays which pass through the region-of-interest that are not blocked by metal in the scanned object.
