  • Publication number: 20140077923
Abstract: Surface-mountable conductive polymer devices include a conductive polymer layer between first and second electrodes, on which are disposed first and second insulation layers, respectively. First and second planar conductive terminals are on the second insulation layer. A first cross-conductor connects the second electrode to the first terminal, and is separated from the first electrode by a portion of the first insulation layer. A second cross-conductor connects the first electrode to the second terminal, and is separated from the second electrode by a portion of the second insulation layer. In some embodiments, at least one cross-conductor includes a beveled portion through the first insulation layer to provide enhanced adhesion between the cross-conductor and the first insulation layer, while allowing greater thermal expansion without undue stress.

  • Publication number: 20140073917
Abstract: Impaired intraocular blood flow within vascular beds in the human eye is associated with certain ocular diseases including, for example, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. A reliable method to quantify blood flow in the various intraocular vascular beds could provide insight into the vascular component of ocular disease pathophysiology. Using ultrahigh-speed optical coherence tomography (OCT), a new 3D angiography algorithm called split-spectrum amplitude-decorrelation angiography (SSADA) was developed for imaging microcirculation within different intraocular regions. A method to quantify SSADA results was developed and used to detect perfusion changes in early stage ocular disease. Associated embodiments relating to methods for quantitatively measuring blood flow at various intraocular vasculature sites, systems for practicing such methods, and use of such methods and systems for diagnosing certain ocular diseases are herein described.

  • Publication number: 20140063806
Abstract: A heat-dissipating structure for LED lamp has a lamp cover, and a power conversion device and a ceramic substrate mounted inside the lamp cover. The lamp cover has multiple heat-dissipating holes and multiple mounting ears. Each mounting ear is formed on an edge of one of the heat-dissipating holes and is bent inwardly with the heat-dissipating hole uncovered. The ceramic substrate is mounted on the mounting ears. The ceramic substrate has multiple LEDs mounted thereon, absorbs heat generated when the LEDs emit light and conducts the heat to the lamp cover through the mounting ears. The heat generated when the LEDs are lit and the power conversion converts a mains power is transferred to a heat convection space between the ceramic substrate and the lamp cover, and is further dissipated to an ambient environment, thereby achieving fast heat dissipation and a light LED lamp without additional heat sink thereon.

  • Patent number: 8556462
Abstract: An LED lighting device has a cap, a circuit board assembly and a bulb envelope. The circuit board assembly is electrically mounted on the cap and has multiple circuit boards intersecting to each other to form a light frame with a crisscross section, and has multiple LEDs mounted on the circuit boards. The circuit board assembly may further have a top circuit board mounted on one end of the light frame. The top circuit board also has multiple LEDs mounted thereon. Sine the circuit boards intersect to each other to constitute the light frame, the light frame provides a large surface area for mounting a lot number of LEDs. Therefore, the LED lighting device is able to provide a wide angle illumination with enhanced lighting intensity.

  • Publication number: 20120233209
Abstract: A unified search service may collect information related to an enterprise from at least one of publicly available data and private enterprise data. In some implementations, crowd sourcing may be used to determine a source list of one or more sources of information. Authored content can be generated, such as by combining one or more items of information from the public data with one or more items of information from the private enterprise data. Further, in some implementations, a public index may be generated from the public data, and one or more affiliation indexes may be generated from the private enterprise data. For example, a first affiliation index may contain confidential enterprise information, while a second affiliation index may contain non-confidential enterprise information. A user's affiliation to the enterprise may be taken into consideration when determining which indexes to use when responding to a search request from the user.

  • Patent number: 8259943
Abstract: A method for decrypting a serial transmission signal includes the following steps. First, the serial transmission signal including a serial data signal and a serial clock signal is received. Then, m bits are sequentially read from the serial data signal according to the serial clock signal. Next, values corresponding to the m bits are generated. Thereafter, each value is added to a content value of a register by an addition operation to obtain an addition result, and then the addition result replaces the content value and is stored in the register.
