  • Publication number: 20250147207
Abstract: A method for regulating flow of electromagnetic radiation into a volume such as a duct includes defining on a reflective surface an array of two or more ridges which are arranged side by side and projecting toward the source. Each ridge is formed by reflective ridge surfaces converging toward an apex so that the reflection directions of the surfaces are different. The ridges are arranged relative to the source so that first reflective ridge surface reflects primarily toward the upstream location and second reflective ridge surface reflects onto the first reflective ridge surface of a next adjacent ridge and thereby primarily toward the upstream location so that the array of ridges acts to form a restriction to flow of radiation toward the downstream location. This can increase an amount of the radiation within the duct by reflecting the radiation back into the duct and to reduce an amount of radiation escaping the duct.

  • Publication number: 20250145512
Abstract: A glass manufacturing apparatus includes a delivery apparatus defining an upstream portion of a ribbon travel path extending in a first travel direction. A forming roll extends along an axis parallel to the travel path and perpendicular to the first travel direction. The forming roll includes a recess that imparts a protrusion to a ribbon. A substantially planar surface is positioned downstream from the forming roll and receives the ribbon. A conveyor supports the substantially planar surface. The conveyor moves the substantially planar surface in a second travel direction that is angled relative to the first travel direction. A force application apparatus biases the ribbon toward the substantially planar surface to alter a position of the protrusion relative to a major surface of the ribbon. Methods of manufacturing a ribbon are provided.

  • Publication number: 20250144991
Abstract: A vehicular headlight system includes a headlight configured to mount at a vehicle equipped with the vehicular headlight system. The headlight includes a lens and a light source that, with the headlight mounted at the vehicle and, when the light source is electrically operated, emits light through the lens to illuminate a region forward of the vehicle. The vehicular headlight system includes a cover that, with the headlight mounted at the vehicle, is movable relative to the headlight between a deployed position and a retracted position. When the cover is in the deployed position, the cover extends over and along the lens of the headlight so that the headlight is not viewable. • Publication number: 20250143814
Abstract: Surgical systems involve a robotic manipulator that moves a surgical tool to remove material from a workpiece and a navigation system to track a pose of the surgical tool relative to the workpiece. A control system determines a non-homogenous density distribution of the workpiece. The control system generates a tool path based on the density distribution. The control system controls the robotic manipulator to move the surgical tool along the tool path to remove the material from the workpiece while accounting for the density distribution. As the surgical tool moves along the tool path, the control system adjusts one or more operating parameters of the surgical tool to account for the density distribution, such as by adjusting the feed rate of the surgical tool, the cutting speed of the surgical tool, and/or the cutting depth of the surgical tool.

  • Publication number: 20250150794
Abstract: A system and method for discouraging the in appropriate use of a mobile device including registering a mobile device with a monitoring application running on a system coupled with a network. A mobile device is linked with the monitoring application through the network. The operational status of the mobile device is monitored to detect if a change occurs in the operational status. A change in the operational status of the mobile device is reported to the monitoring program with time information and the status change is displayed in a graphical interface, and a notification message is sent to a system user. Beacons might also be implemented to advise a device user to disable a mobile device to be monitored.

  • Publication number: 20250143372
Abstract: A vaporizer includes a reservoir (or cartridge) to hold a precursor composition. The reservoir has a passageway that is configured to not allow the free flow of the precursor composition out of the reservoir at ambient temperatures. An infrared radiation source, when activated, heats the precursor composition reducing its viscosity. An entrainment passageway is in communication with an exterior end of the passageway such that when an air flow is induced to pass through the entrainment passageway, the air flow draws the heated precursor composition from the passageway entrains it in the air flow. The entrained precursor may be vaporized and/or further vaporized by heat from the infrared radiation source before being inhaled by the user.
