  • Patent number: 6490522
Abstract: An input unit indicates a departure point and a destination point on map information. A calculation unit extracts a plurality of routes each connected from the departure point to the destination point from the map information, and calculates a guidance demand degree of arbitrary points along each of the plurality of routes. A guidance demand degree is an evaluation value of the point based on a linearity of route, a complexity of route junction, and a change of route width. A route selection unit selects one route from the plurality of routes based on the guidance demand degree of each route. A guidance generation unit generates guidance information of the point decided to guide based on the guidance demand degree along the one route. A presentation unit presents the guidance information to a user.

  • Patent number: 6345245
Abstract: A common dictionary management system that can reduce the work of data registration into dictionaries. Exchange data generated in any local dictionary of a natural language processing system is sent to the local dictionaries of other natural language processing systems automatically. A local dictionary management portion and a common dictionary management portion collect updated dictionary data from a plurality of local dictionaries and updating time information. The local dictionary management portion updates the common dictionary and the local dictionaries according to the collected dictionary data and the time information. The local dictionary management portion compares the information with the latest time on which dictionary data was distributed to the local user dictionaries with the updating time information of the dictionary data in the common dictionary to distribute the dictionary data of the common dictionary selected according to the result of the comparison, to the local dictionaries.

Abstract: A settlement system includes an information distribution apparatus, a terminal apparatus, and a sales apparatus. The information distribution apparatus distributes purchase information such as a coupon or a recommendation to the terminal apparatus of a user. The terminal apparatus sends the purchase information to the sales apparatus in case the user purchases a commodity or utilizes a service. The sales apparatus sends the use result of the purchase information to the terminal apparatus after a settlement of the commodity or the service is executed. The terminal apparatus sends the use result as use log information to the information distribution apparatus. The information distribution apparatus stores the use log information of each user and utilizes the use log information in order to distribute the purchase information suitable for the user the next time. By transmitting electronic data among these apparatuses without a paper medium, the user conveniently utilizes the purchase information.
