  • Patent number: 9752571
Abstract: Designs for multiple segment lobe pumps are shown. The designs include pumps using rotors having two lobes to a plurality of lobes and segments that include two segments to a plurality of segments. Designs for both vertical, or straight walled conventional lobed rotors, as well as helical lobe rotors are shown. The designs are applicable to a variety of rotors and number of segments. In one particular case the designs enable a three lobe helical pump. Designs are also shown for separation plates used between the multiple segments. The separation float between the pairs of lobes in a segment and can also have a fixed position between the lobes by inclusion of end pieces that enable clamping of the separation plates in position.

  • Patent number: 9658822
Abstract: Buffer rate control generally relates to outputting data at either a first rate or a second rate responsive to a fill level of the buffer. In an apparatus therefore, there is a buffer for receiving a data-signal input and for providing a data-signal output. A controller is coupled to receive fill-level information from the buffer and coupled to provide rate-control information to the buffer. The rate-control information is for controlling an output rate of the buffer for the data-signal output to be provided to a bus. The output rate is either a first rate or a second rate for providing the output rate of the data-signal output to the bus. The fill-level information is for selecting either the first rate or the second rate responsive to the buffer being either above or below a threshold fill level, respectively.

  • Patent number: 9653058
Abstract: A passive feedback mechanism by which sound produced by a musical instrument is enhanced by utilizing the reverberations from the sound to dynamically and passively alter the magnetic field in the vicinity of an electronic pickup is disclosed. This is accomplished by utilizing a component or material adhered to the instrument with the property to alter the magnetic field as the material vibrates in response to sound reverberation, one embodiment being a ferromagnetic surface coating. An electromagnetic pickup, sensitive to these variations in the magnetic field, is installed on or within the instrument. The changes in the magnetic field, in response to the music, are captured by the pickup and transformed into an electric signal with thus produce a unique and enhanced sound.

  • Publication number: 20170119534
Abstract: A tibial knee joint prosthesis for attachment to a suitably prepared tibial bone, providing bearing portions in the lateral and medial compartments. The lateral and medial bearing surfaces of the component are inclined at different angles in the anterior to posterior direction of the knee, so that when mounted to the tibia, the lateral bearing surface of the prosthesis is higher than the medial bearing surface to the posterior side of the knee. In this way the lateral ligament is tightened progressively more than the medial ligament as the knee moves from extension to flexion, resulting in increased stability in the lateral compartment.

  • Publication number: 20160371774
Abstract: A risk metric may be generated for use in calculating a risk level associated with a user trading at an exchange. The risk metric may indicate a price level at which the market may be trading a tradeable object at the exchange. The risk metric may be communicated to computing devices to enable the computing devices to calculate the risk level associated with a user without having independent access to the real-time market data at an exchange. The risk metric may be calculated by averaging different price values in the market data to indicate a relative price at which the tradeable object may be trading at the exchange. The risk metric may be calculated as a market value that may be used by multiple users or as a user-specific value. The risk metric may be continuously updated and communicated to computing devices.

  • Publication number: 20160211100
Abstract: A circuit breaker is referenced that has an indicator lamp that identifies a fault condition after power is interrupted to the circuit breaker. This solution uses light emitting diodes (LEDs) to indicate the trip condition. This solution does not require the power to be enabled to the load side of the circuit breaker in order to power the LEDs to display a trip condition. An overload may be detected when the fault current generates sufficient heat in a strip composed of a resistive element or bimetal to cause the bimetal to deflect and/or bend. The mechanical deflection triggers a trip assembly that includes a spring trip level to force a moveable contact attached to a moveable conductive blade away from a stationary contact, thereby breaking the circuit.
