  • Patent number: 8549315
Abstract: A password management system and method for securing networked client terminals and mobile devices is provided. More specifically, the present invention provides a system and method for encrypting randomly generated administrator-level passwords and providing a means for decrypting the randomly generated passwords for single-use unrestricted access to a designated terminal or mobile device. When unrestricted access to the terminal or mobile device is required, the encrypted administrator-level password is decrypted using a shared symmetric key, which is generated during encryption of the administrator password, to reveal the administrator-level password for the terminal or mobile device. The administrator-level password is a single-use password, wherein upon use of the administrator-level password a new administrator-level password may be automatically generated for the corresponding terminal or mobile device.

  • Patent number: 8224752
Abstract: A method of playing back content based on digital rights management (DRM) between a portable storage and a device and a portable storage for the same are provided. The method of playing back content using a portable storage includes requesting the portable storage to transmit a right to play back content protected through digital rights management (DRM), receiving the right to play back the content protected through DRM from the portable storage, and informing the portable storage of completion of the playback when a playback of the content protected through DRM using the right is completed.

  • Patent number: 7984505
Abstract: An arrangement for managing a media file having an associated DRM license is provided by enabling the copying of the media file stored on a source medium to a target medium only when both the source medium and the target medium are held in custody by a media server. The media server writes a copy of a media file and a copy of the associated DRM license from the source medium to the target medium. Upon confirmation that the copy of the DRM license was successfully written to the target medium, the DRM license and media file on the source medium are overwritten. The result is that the target medium contains both the media files and the DRM licenses which are locked to the target medium.

  • Patent number: 7946781
Abstract: An assembly for connecting a component having a base to a surface includes a fastener and a retainer having a clamp portion for capturing a shank of the fastener, and for aligning the fastener and an optional gasket with the base. The retainer automatically separates from the fastener when the fastener is tightened, and may include a recovery feature to allow recovery of the retainer after separation. A method for facilitating connection of a component and gasket to a surface includes inserting a threaded fastener into a base of the component, capturing the fastener within a clamp portion of a retainer, and positioning a surface of the retainer adjacent to the base. A tab portion of a gasket or the base can be inserted into a slot in the retainer to thereby secure the retainer to the base prior to connecting the component to the surface.

  • Patent number: 7900593
Abstract: A valley shield operable as a noise, fluid, and heat barrier is provided for use with an engine assembly having an engine block with two cylinder banks defining an interbank valley therebetween, and two cylinder heads secured thereto. The valley shield has a unitary body including a base with two laterally spaced side portions extending angularly outward therefrom. The body is configured to pressably fit into place proximate to the valley, between the two cylinder banks, and be secured therein by the cylinder heads. The base is oriented immediately adjacent to the interbank valley and is contoured to define an air pocket therebetween. Each lateral side portion includes a flange extending laterally therefrom to directly engage with the perimeter of the interbank valley, providing an acoustic seal therebetween. The base defines two longitudinally displaced trough portions each defining drain holes and configured to allow for gravitational evacuation of fluid therefrom.

  • Publication number: 20100211996
Abstract: User sessions are authenticated based on locations associated with a user account used for sending a request for creating a session. Examples of locations of a source of a request include a geographical location, a network address, or a machine cookie associated with a device sending the request. Locations of the request are compared with stored safe locations associated with the user account and a suspiciousness index is determined for the session. The level of authentication required for the session is determined based on the suspiciousness index. Locations are associated with a reputation based on past history of sessions originating from the locations. A location associated with a history of creating suspicious session is considered an unsafe location. Reputation of the location originating the session is used to determine the level of authentication required for the session.

  • Publication number: 20090114406
Abstract: A harrow frame may be operable to permit pivoting of its ground working tool support arms between a first relative angle and a second relative angle. Pivoting may be achieved through a drive system and a lock controllable remotely such that the tool support arms can be pivoted about their fulcrums “on-the-fly” while the harrow frame is being moved along a ground surface. In addition or alternately, a harrow frame may also be folded to have a width less than 8.5 feet to facilitate transport.
