Abstract: Aspects discussed herein may relate to techniques for authenticating a user using transaction-based authentication questions. The transaction-based authentication questions may be provided to the user. The user may provide audible responses to the transaction-based authentication questions that may be captured by a smart device, such as an always on listening device. Authentication of the user may be based on voice analysis of the audible responses to the transaction-based authentication questions and/or based on the answers to the transaction-based authentication questions.

Abstract: A server device receives, from a user device, a session initiation request and information identifying a location of the user device, and receives, from a monitoring device that is separate from the user device, an authentication request and information identifying a location of the monitoring device. The server device processes the session initiation request and the authentication request to authenticate a user of the user device, and determines, based on the location of the user device and the location of the monitoring device, that the user device and the monitoring device are collocated. The server device creates, after authenticating the user of the user device and determining that user device and the monitoring device are collocated, a session token, and sends the session token to the user device to enable the user device to access at least one resource of the server device.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments may include a system for controlling smart home devices. The system may receive, from a router, a list of devices connected to a home network in a home. The system may determine, from the list of devices, a presence of one or more controllable smart devices, the one or more controllable smart devices operating on a schedule. The system may categorize the one or more controllable smart devices into function-based categories. The system may receive user data. The system may determine a duration of an absence of a user in the home based on the user data. The system may change the schedule of the one or more controllable smart devices based on the function-based category and the duration of the absence of the user.

Abstract: In a video capture system, a virtual lens is simulated when applying a crop or zoom effect to an input video. An input video frame is received from the input video that has a first field of view and an input lens distortion. A selection of a sub-frame representing a portion of the input video frame is obtained that has a second field of view smaller than the first field of view. The sub-frame is processed to remap the input lens distortion to a desired lens distortion in the sub-frame. The processed sub-frame is output.

Abstract: In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to a method for reducing fraud in computer networks, the method including receiving, from each of a plurality of user devices, a request to block an ad displayed within a web browser installed on the user device, the request comprising image data and a forwarding URL associated with the ad; storing crowdsourced ad blocking data based on the received requests to block ads; receiving a request for a list of blocked ads; generating a list of blocked ads based on analyzing the crowdsourced ad blocking data, wherein analyzing the crowdsourced ad blocking data comprises identifying ads blocked by at least a threshold number of users; and sending the list of blocked ads to a first user device, the first user device comprising a browser extension configured to prevent ads within the list of blocked ads from being rendered in a browser.

Abstract: Systems and methods for authenticating a user may include transmitting a request for a first set of information after validation of authentication information; receiving a response comprising the first set of information; parsing the first set of information using one or more template-based algorithms by scanning one or more websites to determine publicly available information associated with a user; comparing compare one or more results of the parsing with a second set of information to yield compromised information associated with the user; eliminating one or more portions of the second set of information based on the comparison; presenting a third set of information to authenticate the user based on the elimination and by supplementing the first set of information with a fourth set of information; and presenting a fifth set of information to authenticate the user if the third set of information fails to reach a predetermined threshold number.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed herein for using one or more machine learning models to determine whether a user is expected to complete a task or action by a deadline. The one or more machine learning models may be trained and/or used to recommend a communication protocol for sending a reminder to the user such that the user is predicted to be more likely to complete an action by the action's deadline. A computing system may use the one or more machine learning models to generate a recommendation for type of reminder to send, for example, if it is predicted that the user is not expected to complete the task by the deadline. A computing system may determine the message to send, the communication protocol to use, and/or the time to send the message.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein generally related to a system and method for exempting a transaction from a transaction hold. A computing system determines that an account associated with a user has been compromised. The computing system places a transaction hold on the account that has been compromised. The computing system generates one or more safe zones based at least on historical transaction data associated with the user. The one or more safe zones exempt from the transaction hold. The computing system receives a verification request for a transaction associated with the account. The verification request includes at least a merchant identification code associated with the third party merchant. The computing system determines that the third party merchant is included in at least one safe zone of the one or more safe zones. Based on the determination, the computing system verifies the transaction with the server of the third party merchant.

A request for access to an account may be received from a user device. A plurality of organizations may be identified. One or more e-mail associated with the account may be identified. The e-mails may be processed to identify one or more organizations that correspond to transactions conducted by a user. A modified plurality of organizations may be generated by removing, from the plurality of organizations, the one or more organizations. An authentication question may be generated and provided to the user device. A response to the authentication question may be received, and the user device may be provided access based on the response.

Abstract: Aspects described herein may allow transactions to be authenticated based on images taken at the transaction site. For example, a computing device may decline a transaction request based on a first category of the transaction indicated in the category information violates a transaction category restriction of the user account. The computing device may send, to a user device associated with the user account, an instruction to upload one or more photos that depict a physical environment where the transaction is requested. If the photos indicate the requested transaction belongs to another category that does not violate the transaction category restriction, the system may approve the transaction based on the photos.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described herein for improving computer authentication processes by analyzing user response times to authentication questions. A request for access to an account may be received. Transaction data associated with a user of that account may be retrieved, and a list of merchants may be generated based on the transaction data. A blocklist may be retrieved, and the list of merchants may be filtered based on the blocklist. An authentication question may be presented. The authentication question may relate to the list of merchants. User responses may be received, and response times for the user responses may be measured. Based on the response times and the response times for other users, an average response time for the merchants may be determined. Based on the average response time for a particular merchant exceeding a threshold, the particular merchant may be added to the blocklist.
