  • Publication number: 20090144820
Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method and apparatus for protecting against high volume attacks. The present invention receives a packet, determines a source of the received packet, and updates a tree-based data structure based on the source of the received packet. The received packet is accepted or passed on whenever one or more statistics stored within the tree-based data structure do not exceed a threshold. The received packet is dropped whenever the one or more statistics exceed the threshold. The present invention can be implemented in hardware, software or a combination thereof. The software will implement the steps as one or more code segments of a computer program embodied on a computer readable medium.

  • Publication number: 20090135037
Abstract: An offset correction circuit examines a residue signal of a stage of a pipeline analog to digital converter (ADC) to determine whether a parameter which could cause offset error, needs to be adjusted. In an embodiment, the parameter is adjusted until a maximum range of the residue signal equals an expected range. In the described examples, the adjusted parameters include timing offset error (when components of an ADC sample the input signal at different time instances) and a voltage offset error (the threshold voltage at which a sub-ADC in a stage the generated sub-code changes to a next value).

  • Patent number: 7525952
Abstract: Techniques for finding the source of perceptual audio degradation in an IP telephony environment provide a hop-by-hop analysis of a network over which IP telephony is laid, and may be performed by network switching devices, such as routers, gateways and switches. Rather than monitoring packet loss, these techniques employ perceptual measures to determine the source of audio quality degradation in the network, as perceived by a user or caller. Generally, a reference waveform is systematically sent to intermediate network switching devices along the path between two endpoints. Each intermediate device sends back a return waveform that is based on the respective reference waveform received at each device. From comparing the reference waveform with the return waveform, for each round-trip along the path, the degradation of the audio quality is computed for each round-trip path, from which audio degradation is computed for each hop, from which the source of degradation is determined.
