    Abstract: A surface roughening method includes the following steps: preparing a first epitaxial layer of a three-dimensional island shape growth over a light emitting structure; and preparing a discontinuous second epitaxial layer over the first epitaxial layer. The surface roughening method provided in the present application is simple and convenient, and improves the efficiency. In addition to the epitaxial growth process, it is not necessary to use an additional process such as wet etching, photonic crystal and other processes to further process the surface of the epitaxial layer, and the method may be implemented by means of one process in a same reaction equipment.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a microwave chemical method for totally extracting fluorine and rare earth from bastnaesite concentrate, including: alkaline conversion defluorination of bastnaesite through microwave irradiation, microwave-assisted leaching of fluorine, solid-liquid separation of leaching solution and microwave-assisted leaching of rare earth. The rare earth hydrochloric acid solution for leaching contains no fluorine ion, so that the fluorine interference of subsequent processes such as impurity removal can be completely avoided; the fluorine and the rare earth are leached with microwaves, which does not need the stirring, so that the automatic control is easy to implement; the fluorine and rare earth leaching speed is high, the leaching time is short and the complete leaching of fluorine and little residual alkali in the slag can be realized by two-time leaching; and no fluorine-containing waste water is discharged, and the total extraction of the rare earth can be realized by one-time leaching.

    Abstract: Provided is a mitochondrial copper depleting strategy that exploits the potential vulnerability for this metabolic by cancer cells such as Triple Negative Breast Cancer cells. A nanoparticle is provided that comprises a self-reporting copper-depleting moiety (CDM) embedded in or on the matrix comprising a semi-conducting polymer and a phospholipid-polyethylene glycol (PEG). The positively charged copper-depleting complex targets mitochondria and deprives cytochrome c oxidase of its necessary copper co-factor. Inhibition of the electron transport chain complex IV compromises oxygen consumption and abrogates fatty acid oxidation, resulting in energy deficiency induced apoptosis of the targeted cancer cells. The copper-depleting nanoparticle can report the copper depleting status through multimodal optical signal changes while decreasing the copper level in tumors to inhibit tumor growth with low toxicity and significantly prolonged survival.
