  • Patent number: 10443880
Abstract: The present invention allows for a combination valve in a hydronic HVAC system that functions as an isolation valve; a check valve; and as a device for measuring fluid parameters, such as flow rate, pressure, and/or temperature, and also allows for the isolation valve to be configured in the field to be mounted either in a straight 180° or an angled 90° orientation, as well as at an intermediate angle. The new combination of isolation valve, check valve, with embedded sensors for flow rate, pressure, and/or temperature measurement provides a more compact product envelope that achieves space savings, e.g., by eliminating the need for separate components in an HVAC system, such as separate isolation valves, check valves, flow meters, pressure gages, and/or thermometers.

  • Patent number: 10444845
Abstract: A mobile device determines a vision based pose using images captured by a camera and determines a sensor based pose using data from inertial sensors, such as accelerometers and gyroscopes. The vision based pose and sensor based pose are used separately in a visualization application, which displays separate graphics for the different poses. For example, the visualization application may be used to calibrate the inertial sensors, where the visualization application displays a graphic based on the vision based pose and a graphic based on the sensor based pose and prompts a user to move the mobile device in a specific direction with the displayed graphics to accelerate convergence of the calibration of the inertial sensors. Alternatively, the visualization application may be a motion based game or a photography application that displays separate graphics using the vision based pose and the sensor based pose.

  • Patent number: 10444819
Abstract: Approaches provided herein are directed to intelligently boosting, in a power efficient manner, CPU frequency in response to a touch gesture event. In some approaches, for example, a governor of a processor receives an instruction hint (e.g., an interaction hint or a vertical synchronization (VSYNC) hint) from a power hardware abstraction layer (HAL), the instruction hint provided in response to at least one of: a scrolling touch gesture to a user interface, and an application launch touch gesture. In another embodiment, an instruction hint is received at the governor in response to a discrete touch gesture to the user interface. In each case, a clock frequency corresponding to the processor is modified to optimize performance and user experience, while maximizing energy conservation.
