  • Patent number: 10162918
Abstract: An integrated circuit design may include registers and combinational logic. Integrated circuit design computing equipment may perform register retiming in the circuit design, whereby registers are moved across one or more portions of the combinational logic. The candidate registers to be retimed may have a different number or different types of secondary signals. In such scenarios, a selective modeling operation may be performed according to a predetermined precedence scheme to remove and model the differing secondary signals, thereby producing comparable registers with the same number and type of secondary signals. The comparable registers can then be retimed across the corresponding combinational logic. Backward or forward retiming operations may be performed in this way to achieve optimal circuit performance. During retiming adjacent combinational logic may also be combined to help minimize circuit area.

  • Publication number: 20180362862
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for managing the operation of a plant, such as a chemical plant or a petrochemical plant or a refinery, and more particularly for enhancing system performance of a catalyzed reaction system by, among other features, detecting catalyst deactivation and cycle length. Plants may include those that provide hydrocarbon cracking or other process units. A plant may include a reactor, a heater, a catalyst bed, a separator, and other equipment. The equipment may use catalyst to treat feed products to remove compounds and produce different products. Catalysts used in the various reactors in these processes become deactivated over time. Systems and methods are disclosed for extending catalyst life and thereby improving efficiency of the plant.

  • Publication number: 20180367661
Abstract: Adjustable device settings is described herein. In one or more implementations, a client device is configured with device settings that are compatible with multiple different geographical locations. The client device attaches to a wireless network via a wireless radio of the client device, and receives location information from the attached wireless network. The client device determines a current geographical location of the client device based at least in part on the location information received from the wireless network, and adjusts the device settings of the client device to conform to location-specific settings of the current geographical location.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for quasi-sensorless adaptive control of a high rotor pole switched-reluctance motor (HRSRM). The method comprises the steps of: applying a voltage pulse to an inactive phase winding and measuring current response in each inactive winding. Motor index pulses are used for speed calculation and to establish a time base. Slope of the current is continuously monitored which allows the shaft speed to be updated multiple times and to track any change in speed and fix the dwell angle based on the shaft speed. The apparatus for quasi-sensorless control of a high rotor pole switched-reluctance motor (HRSRM) comprises a switched-reluctance motor having a stator and a rotor, a three-phase inverter controlled by a processor connected to the switched-reluctance motor, a load and a converter.

  • Publication number: 20180357298
Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods for categorizing tables of a database into groups are provided. A set of queries used to access a database are processed to generate a log that identifies for each of the queries (i) a database operation associated with the query, (ii) a table of the database accessed via the query, and (iii) a column or columns of the table used by the query to access the table. Database operation criteria for categorizing database tables into groups are accessed. The criteria are based on a total number of times that a table is accessed by the set of queries and a number of times that the table is accessed using a column or group of columns. An algorithm that evaluates data of the log against the criteria is applied. The algorithm is configured to automatically categorize tables identified in the log into groups based on the evaluation.

  • Patent number: 10151805
Abstract: A method includes acquiring magnetic data from a magnetometer, processing the magnetic data to perform robust calibration, and generating optimum calibration parameters using a calibration status indicator. To that end, the method includes generating a calibration status indicator as a function of time elapsed since a last calibration and variation in total magnetic field in previously stored magnetic data, detecting anomalies, and extracting a sparse magnetic data set using comparison between the previously stored magnetic data and the magnetic data. Calibration parameters are generated for the magnetometer using a calibration method as a function of the magnetic data set. The calibration parameters are stored based on performing a validation and stability check on the calibration parameters, and weighted with the previously stored calibration parameters to produce weighted calibration parameters.

  • Patent number: 10152396
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for a time-based checkpoint target is provided for standby databases. Change records received from a primary database are applied for a standby database, creating dirty buffer queues. As the change records are applied, a mapping is maintained, which maps timestamps to logical times of change records that were most recently applied at the timestamp for the standby database. On a periodic dirty buffer queue processing interval, the mapping is used to determine a target logical time that is mapped to a target timestamp that is prior to a present timestamp by at least a checkpoint delay. The dirty buffer queues are then processed up to the target logical time, creating an incremental checkpoint. On a periodic header update interval, file headers reflecting a consistent logical time for the checkpoint are also updated. The intervals and the checkpoint delay are adjustable by user or application.

  • Patent number: 10152446
Abstract: An interface adapter to identify a first ready signal from a first link layer-to-physical layer (LL-PHY) interface of a first communication protocol indicating readiness of a physical layer of the first protocol to accept link layer data. The interface adapter generates a second ready signal compatible with a second LL-PHY interface of a second communication protocol to cause link layer data to be sent from a link layer of the second communication protocol according to a predefined delay. A third ready signal is generated compatible with the first LL-PHY interface to indicate to the physical layer of the first communication protocol that the link layer data is to be sent. The interface adapter uses a shift register to cause the link layer data to be passed to the physical layer according to the predefined delay.
