  • Publication number: 20170161092
Abstract: Software, hardware, and virtual network resources are anti-collocated on a networked computing environment. A computerized network-management system receives a list of resources to be installed on components of a network and a set of anti-collocation rules that identify combinations of resources that may not be installed concurrently on the same network component. Each resource is assigned a priority and the resources are organized into groups as a function of these priorities. The groups are processed sequentially in priority order, and a color is assigned to each resource in each group. Any resource not constrained by an anti-collocation rule is assigned a default “most popular” color. Each constrained resource is assigned a color that is not already used by any other resource with which the constrained resource is anti-collocated. The resources in each group are then installed in order of color, with the more populous colors being installed first.

  • Patent number: 9673162
Abstract: A method and apparatus for incorporation of high power device dies into smaller system packages by embedding metal “coins” having high thermal conductivity into package substrates, or printed circuit boards, and coupling the power device dies onto the metal coins is provided. In one embodiment, the power device die can be attached to an already embedded metal coin in the package substrate or PCB. The power device die can be directly coupled to the embedded metal coin or the power device die can be attached to a metallic interposer which is then bonded to the embedded metal coin. In another embodiment, the die can be attached to the metal coin and then the PCB or package substrate can be assembled to incorporate the copper coin. Active dies are coupled to each other either through wire bonds or other passive components, or using a built-up interconnect.

  • Publication number: 20170154051
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating hashmaps are presented. According to the disclosed subject matter, computer users can identify a geo-location (a real-world geographic location) irrespective and independent of any known entity at the geo-location and associate content with regard to the identified location. The combination of the user-specified location and the corresponding, associated content is a “hashmap.” Additional information may be associated and included with a hashmap, including access restrictions to the hashmap by others, a user identifier of the creator of the hashmap, and a date and time. Users can search for hashmaps related to a particular area by submitting hashmap requests to a hashmap service.

  • Publication number: 20170155916
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing multi-layer reversible data hiding are disclosed. According to the methods and systems, multi-layer reversible data hiding process may be implemented in two stages. The first stage provides embedding of the sensitive data on a secret layer and hiding the secret layer behind single or multiple layers for secure transmission for intended recipient. Subsequently, the second stage is concerned about retrieving or extracting the hidden sensitive data through proper authentication. In the extraction process, the recipient needs to provide the right authentication code for each of embedded layer in order to reach to the secret layer. Upon unsuccessful authentication of any embedded layer, the proposed method enables an intelligent security technique termed as SMART (Suspect Malicious Activity on Rich Tract), which ensures to protect the sensitive data by suspecting the attempts of theft and intrusion.

  • Patent number: 9665366
Abstract: Techniques are described for generating configuration level signatures. In an embodiment, one or more computing devices are used to generate a first signature for a particular software deployment that is configured at a particular configuration level. The first signature is generated based on digest information that identifies a plurality of deployed source components for the particular software deployment. Mapping data is stored that maps the first signature to the digest information identifying the plurality of deployed source components for the particular software deployment. A second signature is generated based on information that defines target source components for a set of software deployments that includes the particular software deployment. The first signature is compared with the second signature to determine whether the deployed source components satisfy the target source components. An indication of whether the deployed source components satisfy the target source components is stored.

  • Patent number: 9667873
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed pertain to systems, method s and apparatus for the initialization of Computer Vision (CV) applications on user devices (UDs) comprising a camera and a display. In some embodiments, an optimal camera trajectory for initialization of a Computer Vision (CV) application may be determined based on an initial camera pose and an estimated pivot distance. For example, the initial camera pose may be estimated based on a first image captured by the camera. Further, the display may be updated in real-time with an indication of a desired movement direction for the camera. In some embodiments, the indication of desired movement direction may be based, in part, on a current camera pose and the optimal trajectory, where the current camera pose may be estimated based on a current image captured by the camera.

  • Patent number: 9658959
Abstract: A resource manager directs cache operating states of virtual machines based on cache resource latency and by distinguishing between latencies in flash memory and latencies in network communications and by distinguishing between executing read commands and executing different types of write commands. As a result, the resource manager can downgrade the cache operating state of the virtual machines differently based on the type of latency being experienced and the type of command being performed. The resource manager can upgrade and/or reset the cache operating state of the virtual machines, when appropriate, and can give priority to some virtual machines over other virtual machines when operating in a downgraded cache operating state.
