  • Publication number: 20170052962
Abstract: An interactive video distribution system can distribute video content to customer premises of a service provide. Content servers store video content items received from content providers. A content management server maintains a content index including content metadata describing the video content items. A request for content is received from customer premises equipment of a customer premises via a content distribution network. An iterative matching process is performed to match the request with content metadata in the content index to identify a matching video content item to deliver to the customer premises equipment in response to the request.

  • Patent number: 9574965
Abstract: A monitoring system and method monitor changes in clearance distances between a sensor and a rotating component of a machine. Imbalance and/or wear in the machine is identified based on the changes in the clearance distances. The system and method optionally both measure the clearance distances and a rotating speed of the rotating component of the machine with the same sensor. In order to identify imbalance in the machine, a spectral energy of the machine can be calculated based on the changes in the clearance distances, and the imbalance in the machine can be identified based on the spectral energy. The system and method can determine a trigger speed of the machine that is associated with the wear in the machine based on the changes in the clearance distance. A remaining useful life of the machine can be estimated based on changes in the trigger speed.

  • Publication number: 20170048097
Abstract: Disclosed are examples of managing devices through secondary communication channels. In some examples, a management component detects an impediment with a data communication channel for a device. The data communication channel can be a primary communication channel through which the device communicates with a management service. The management component detects an event associated with the device to report to the management service. The management component generates a message specifying the event, and the management component transmits the message to the management service through the secondary communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20170046339
Abstract: Disclosed are examples that relate to searching for audio in multimedia files. A transcript specification can be obtained from a file manager that provides restricted access to files associated with an enterprise. The transcript specification can include transcript data representing audio for multiple time segments of a multimedia file. A search result can be generated for a search query. The search result can indicate that the search query matches the transcript data for a particular time segment of the multimedia file. The particular time segment of the multimedia file can be retrieved from the file manager.

  • Patent number: 9563655
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for low loss database backup and recovery. The method commences by transmitting, by a first server to a third server, a copy of a database snapshot backup, the transmitting commencing at a first time. Then capturing, by the first server, a stream of database redo data, the capturing commencing before or upon transmitting the database snapshot backup, and continuing until a third time. The stream of database redo data is received by an intermediate server after which the intermediate server transmits the stream of database redo data to the third server. Now, the third server has the database snapshot backups and the database redo data. The third server can send to a fourth server all or portion of the database redo data to be applied to the copy of the database snapshot backup restored there to create a restored database.

  • Patent number: 9563933
Abstract: Various disclosed embodiments are directed to methods and systems for reducing memory space in sequential computer-implemented operations. The method includes generating a directed acyclic graph (DAG) having a plurality of vertices and directed edges, wherein each edge connects a predecessor vertex to a successor vertex. Each vertex represents one of the computer-implemented operations and each directed edge represents output data generated by the operations. The method includes merging one of the predecessor vertex with one of the successor vertex by combining the operations of the predecessor vertex and the successor vertex if the predecessor and successor vertices are connected by a directed edge and there is only one directed edge originating from the predecessor vertex. The merger of the predecessor and the successor vertices reduces the number of directed edges in the DAG, resulting in a reduction of intermediate buffer memory required to store the output data.
