  • Publication number: 20130124548
Abstract: In an embodiment, characteristics of an email thread are analyzed to find related email threads. Email threads are combined to identify duplicate emails and to generate a superset thread, which maintains the context of combined email threads. The superset thread is displayed to a reviewer for review, wherein each unique email is displayed only once. In an embodiment, a system for presenting a plurality of email threads includes a thread analyzer, a database manager, and a superset thread generator. The thread analyzer analyzes characteristics of an email thread. The database manager indexes and identifies email threads from networked databases. The superset thread generator combines the email threads to determine duplicate emails and generates a superset thread, which maintains the context of each of the combined email thread.

  • Patent number: 8443275
Abstract: A method, system and apparatus of lossy compression technique for video encoder bandwidth reduction using compression error data are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes storing an error data from a compression of an original reference data in an off-chip memory, accessing the error data during a motion compensation operation, and performing the motion compensation operation by applying the error data through an algorithm (e.g., determined by the method of storing the error data). The method may include generating a predicted frame in the motion compensation operation using a motion vector and an on-chip video data. In addition, the method may include determining the error data as a difference between a compressed reference data (e.g., is created by compressing the original reference data) and an original reference data (e.g., reconstructed from a prior predicted frame and a decompressed encoder data).

  • Patent number: 8429930
Abstract: An oil separator for use in separating oil from refrigerant gas in a chiller system is provided. Its operation is based on centrifugal separation principles and does not require the use any type of filter or media pack to remove oil from refrigerant gas. The oil separator includes a non-circular (e.g., elliptical) refrigerant outlet pipe that transitions the linear flow from the inlet connection to a swirling (e.g., circular) flow within the cylindrical housing. The non-circular shape of the entrance to the refrigerant outlet pipe provides for more turbulent gas flow and a greater extraction of oil as well as minimization of pressure losses.
