  • Publication number: 20130217417
Abstract: A method of operating an industrial plant having processing units that includes a wireless network including a network server, at least one router, and a plurality of workers including a first worker. A first handheld computing device is provided having a wireless transceiver and a processor programmed to implement a location-based service algorithm stored in non-transitory machine readable storage to a first worker. The location-based service algorithm implements obtaining location information that identifies a physical location for the first worker, and adding the location information to wireless transmissions of information by the first worker to others of the plurality of workers or to the network server. The first handheld computing device wirelessly receives server provided plant information that is a function of the physical location, and the first worker performs at least one action guided at least in part by the server provided plant information.

Abstract: A voltage source inverter comprises a rectifier having an input for connection to a multi-phase AC power source and converting the AC power to DC power at an output. An inverter receives DC power and converts the DC power to AC power. A DC bus is connected between the rectifier circuit and the inverter circuit to provide a relatively fixed DC voltage for the inverter. A bus capacitor is across the DC bus. A soft charge circuit limits inrush current to the bus capacitor. The soft charge circuit comprises an input inductor for each phase connected between the rectifier input and the AC power source and a clamping circuit across each input inductor to limit DC bus voltage.

  • Patent number: 8501105
Abstract: A reaction-based process developed for the selective removal of CO2 from a multicomponent gas mixture to provide a gaseous stream depleted in CO2 compared to the inlet CO2 concentration. The proposed process effects the separation of CO2 from a mixture of gases by its reaction with metal oxides. The Calcium based Reaction Separation for CO2 (CaRS-CO2) process consists of contacting CO2 laden gas with CaO in a reactor such that CaO captures CO2 by the formation of CaCO3. CaCO3 is regenerated by calcination leading to the formation of fresh CaO sorbent and the evolution of a concentrated stream of CO2. The “regenerated” CaO is then recycled for the further capture of CO2. This carbonation-calcination cycle forms the basis of the CaRS-CO2 process. This process also may use a mesoporous CaCO3 structure that attains >90% conversion over multiple carbonation and calcination cycles.
