  • Publication number: 20090319977
Abstract: A persistence-driven optimization technique is provided in which nets can be ranked based on unpredictability and likely quality of result impact. The top nets in that ranking can be routed and their parasitics extracted. A timing graph can be back-annotated with route-based delays and parasitics for the selected nets. At this point, synthesis can be run using actual route-based delays and parasitics for the selected nets, with their routes being updated incrementally as needed. In one embodiment, the nets can be re-ranked after synthesis. Finally, these routes can be preserved across the subsequent global routing of the remaining nets.

  • Publication number: 20090316815
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for increasing throughput in a wireless communication system by reducing the amount of overhead transmitted to certain user terminals. Overhead due to control information may be reduced for these certain user terminals by selecting a low repetition factor. Overhead may be further reduced for these certain user terminals by selecting a modulation/coding scheme with a higher data rate for transmitting the control information. The selection may be based on channel conditions associated with the user terminals, such as signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratios (SINRs).

  • Publication number: 20090313317
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a computer implemented method and system for streaming multimedia content available at a content server with a determinate bandwidth to multiple clients. A client agent provided on each of the clients requests a server agent on a content server for multimedia content. First connections are established to the content server by a predefined number of first clients from the requesting clients using the client agent. The predefined number is determined by the bandwidth available at the content server. The server agent then transfers the multimedia content to the first clients by utilizing the first connections. The server agent identifies the first clients for availability of a predetermined bandwidth for streaming multimedia content to second clients. Second connections are then established between the identified first clients and the second clients. The identified first clients then transfer the multimedia content to the second clients by utilizing the second connections.

  • Publication number: 20090307521
Abstract: A DDR memory controller is described wherein a core domain capture clock is created by programmably delaying the core clock of the memory controller. The delay of this capture clock is calibrated during a power on the initialization sequence in concert with a DDR memory in a system environment, thereby minimizing the effects of system delays and increasing both device and system yield. An additional embodiment also includes programmably delaying the incoming dqs signal.

  • Patent number: 7630947
Abstract: Medical ontology information is used for mining and/or probabilistic modeling. A domain knowledge base may be automatically or semi-automatically created by a processor from a medical ontology. The domain knowledge base, such as a list of disease associated terms, is used to mine for corresponding information from a medical record. The relationship of different terms with respect to a disease may be used to train a probabilistic model. Probabilities of a disease or chance of indicating the disease are determined based on the terms from a medical ontology. This probabilistic reasoning is learned with a machine from ontology information and a training data set.
