  • Patent number: 7142813
Abstract: A short range wireless protocol is established to/from a processing device, such as a point of sale terminal. Adapters are designed for mating with different ones of commercially available communicating devices (host) using the public switched network. The adapters are arranged to communicate with the host using the host protocol and with the processing device using the established, short range wireless protocol. In one embodiment, power is derived at the adapter using parasitic power from the communication link.

  • Patent number: 7143021
Abstract: A machine-implemented, simulations-supporting system creates a hierarchy of data structures for simplifying the task of identifying iso-topological, and iso-geometric, and iso-static instances of subcircuit-definitions. The behaviors of such isomorphic and iso-static instances can be simultaneously predicted by appointing a simulation leader for them and using the simulation leader in combination with a respective simulation model to predict the behavior of the simulation leader. The predicted behavior of the leader is then copied for the followers. In one embodiment, state-describing S-circuit cards each point to a respective, and possibly merged, I-circuit card. The I-circuit cards each point to respective, and possibly merged, element instantiating cards (AG-cards) as well as to respective, and possibly merged, interconnect-topology describing cards (T-circuits).

  • Publication number: 20060263653
Abstract: A strategy of controlling a state of hydration of a fuel cell(s) and actively managing operation of the fuel cell(s) to achieve a desired state of hydration. The control strategy monitors the state of hydration and a rate of change of the state of hydration which are used to control the operation of the fuel cell(s). A supervisory control strategy is implemented that alters the operating parameters of the fuel cell(s) based upon the state of hydration, the rate of change of the state of hydration, and a desired operational range for the state of hydration.

  • Publication number: 20060262885
Abstract: An apparatus and method are described for mapping a plurality of multimedia streams (e.g., received from a set of satellite transponders) across a lesser plurality of decoders. In one embodiment, arbitration logic allocates the multimedia streams to divide the decoding load equally among the group of decoders (or at least as equally as possible). Allocation may occur statically, when the system is initialized, or dynamically, as the streams are being processed. In addition, in one embodiment, the arbitration logic monitors the amount of multimedia data for each stream stored in a buffer and causes streams to be serviced by the decoders which have relatively more stored multimedia data.

  • Publication number: 20060263651
Abstract: A control strategy results in a relative humidity profile that is substantially the same or constant regardless of the operational power level of the fuel cell stack. The strategy maintains the relative humidity profile within a range that enables high current density operation of the fuel cell stack. The profile is achieved by adjusting a coolant flow rate through the fuel cell stack to maintain a temperature change across the coolant flow path from inlet to outlet substantially constant regardless of the operational power level of the fuel cell stack.

  • Patent number: 7139948
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, a scan test methodology is implemented which generates a test pattern set. A linear-time analysis is then performed on the test pattern set. As a result a new test pattern set is generated. Comparisons are made between the original test pattern set and the new test pattern set to analyze any difference in faults detected by the original test pattern set and the new test pattern set. If there are any differences in faults, test pattern generation is performed using the new test pattern set and the original test pattern set is used to augment the new test pattern set.

  • Publication number: 20060256812
Abstract: Systems and methods for obtaining location information for a communication station in a first domain by a communication station in a second domain are provided. The communication station in the second domain embeds a location request message in a message formatted according to a first communication protocol, and transmits the message formatted according to the first communication protocol to a proxy server. The proxy server removes the embedded request message and forwards it to a location server, which is located in the first domain. The proxy server receives a location response message and embeds it in another message formatted according to the first communication protocol. The proxy server then transmits the another message formatted according to the first communication protocol to the communication station in the second domain, which can remove the embedded location response message.

  • Publication number: 20060258124
Abstract: A method of preparing a clean substrate surface for blanket or selective epitaxial deposition of silicon-containing and/or germanium-containing films. In addition, a method of growing the silicon-containing and/or germanium-containing films, where both the substrate cleaning method and the film growth method are carried out at a temperature below 750° C., and typically at a temperature from about 700° C. to about 500° C. The cleaning method and the film growth method employ the use of radiation having a wavelength ranging from about 310 nm to about 120 nm in the processing volume in which the silicon-containing film is grown. Use of this radiation in combination with particular partial pressure ranges for the reactive cleaning or film-forming component species enable the substrate cleaning and epitaxial film growth at temperatures below those previously known in the industry.

  • Patent number: 7134105
Abstract: A method and apparatus for improved formal equivalence checking to verify the operation of components in a VLSI integrated circuit. The present invention enhances previous techniques for dynamic circuits by generating a multi-level transistor abstraction for dynamic circuits. Two-levels of abstracted code are generated. First, an abstracted legal Verilog® is generated for the evaluate phase of a dynamic circuit. Second, “comment-logic” in Verilog® syntax is generated for the pre-charge phase of the dynamic circuit. Using the method and apparatus of the present invention, it is possible to obtain a multi-level transistor abstraction for both the “clk=0” and the “clk=1” conditions. The binary decision diagram property of the circuit being analyzed is used to generate multi-level representations for both the pre-charge (clk=0) and the evaluate phases (clk=1). The multi-level abstracted model of the present invention has several advantages over the prior art.
