  • Patent number: 9706321
Abstract: A method and apparatus for executing a method for modifying an output parameter of an electronic device. The method and apparatus emits a first sound. The method and apparatus are further configured to receive a second sound at the electronic device, the second sound based at least in part on the first sound. The processor of the electronic device compares at least one characteristic of the first sound to at least one corresponding characteristic of the second sound. The processor further receives output data from at least one sensor and modifies an output parameter of the electronic device in response to the comparison of the first sound and the second sound and the output data from the at least one sensor.

  • Patent number: 9699118
Abstract: A network switch including a set of communication ports is provided. The communication ports may have an allocated prebuffer to store data during packet switching operations. The network switch may further include a calendar associated with the set of communication ports that provides bandwidth configuration for the set of communication ports. The network switch may further include a secondary calendar that may be dynamically setup. The secondary calendar may provide an alternative bandwidth configuration strategy for the set of communication ports. The switch includes circuitry that may increase the prebuffer size and upon the successful increase of the prebuffer size reconfigure the set of communication ports from the original calendar to the secondary calendar, without a reboot. The circuitry may reset the prebuffer size after reconfiguration is complete and the switch may continue operation according to the reconfigured settings.

  • Publication number: 20170186845
Abstract: Methods form transistor structures that include, among other components, a substrate having an active region bordered by an isolation region, a gate insulator on the substrate, and a gate conductor on the gate insulator. First and second sections of the gate conductor are within the active region of the substrate, while a third section is in the isolation region of the substrate. The second section of the gate conductor tapers from the width of the first section to the width of the wider third section. The first section and the second section of the gate conductor have undercut regions where the corner of the gate conductor contacts the substrate. The third section of the gate conductor lacks the undercut regions. The gate insulator is relatively thicker in the undercut regions and is relatively thinner where the corner of the gate conductor lacks the undercut regions in the isolation region.

  • Publication number: 20170175503
Abstract: A controller and method is provided for operating a plunger lift system in a gas well that uses a pressure trigger and trip delay time to determine an afterflow time. The plunger lift system can include a plunger and a valve between the well and an outlet line were the produced gas is routed. The method can open the valve and allow the plunger to rise to a top of the well. After the plunger has reached the top of the well, the pressure in the well can be monitored to determine when a pressure trigger has occurred. When the pressure trigger occurs, the method can wait a trip delay time before once again closing the valve. After a close time the method can be repeated, the valve opened and the plunger allowed to rise back up the well. An adjusted trip delay time can then be determined and used.

  • Publication number: 20170168939
Abstract: A data processing system, having two or more of processors that access a shared data resource, and method of operation thereof. Data stored in a local cache is marked as being in a ‘UniqueDirty’, ‘SharedDirty’, ‘UniqueClean’, ‘SharedClean’ or ‘Invalid’ state. A snoop filter monitors access by the processors to the shared data resource, and includes snoop filter control logic and a snoop filter cache configured to maintain cache coherency. The snoop filter cache does not identify any local cache that stores the block of data in a ‘SharedDirty’ state, resulting in a smaller snoop filter cache size and simple snoop control logic. The data processing system by be defined by instructions of a Hardware Description Language.
