Abstract: A detecting device and method applying an electrochemical detecting strip are disclosed. The detecting device is used to detect by applying an electrochemical detecting strip having at least one cavity on the upper surface thereof with the cavity being coated with reaction reagent. The detecting device is provided with an electrode assembly consisting of a plurality of electrode bodies. A working electrode and a counter electrode are disposed on the surface of each electrode body. Moreover, each electrode body is provided with an arm to be joined as a coupling port at the center of the electrode assembly such that all of the electrode bodies surround the coupling port.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a pharmaceutical composition. The pharmaceutical composition includes a chitosan with palmitoyl groups and an active agent. According to another embodiment, the pharmaceutical composition can further include a gelling accelerating agent. According to an embodiment of the disclosure, the active agent of the disclosure can be administered in the form of a nano-drug, liposome, micelle, or microparticle.

Abstract: A probe cover for ear thermometer is disclosed. The probe cover is installed on the probe by a plurality of elastic recesses being disposed at an open end of the probe cover for ear thermometer. In accordance with the elasticity of the elastic recesses, the probe cover can be easily and firmly installed at the probe of the ear thermometer. The damage of the probe cover can be avoided because of over extending.

Abstract: The invention discloses an electrochemical strip reading apparatus and method. The electrochemical strip reading apparatus comprises a housing, a monitor, a slot for an electrochemical strip and a code card, a current detecting and converting circuit, and a microprocessor. The code card not only provides complete identification information for the electrochemical strip, but also is used as a memory card and a calibration card.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes a base, a skid base, a housing and an electrode. The base is formed with a first inclined plane. The skid base is formed with a second inclined plane opposing the first inclined plane, where the second inclined plane is disposed on the first inclined plane in a slidable manner. The skid base is formed with a load plane opposite to the second inclined plane, and an inclined angle is between the load plane and a first inclined plane. The housing and the base are assembled with each other to accommodate the skid base in the housing. Opposing sides of the housing are formed with an insertion port, respectively, allowing an electrode and a strip to be inserted and connected to the electrical connector.

Abstract: A method and apparatus configured to analyze breast density based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of a breast of a patient includes the steps of segmenting an MR image of the breast from one set of three-dimensional breast MRI images, and analyzing the amount of dense tissue and the morphological distribution of the dense tissue and a data processor configured by software to perform these steps. Analyzing the amount of dense tissue and the morphological distribution of the dense tissue includes the steps of segmenting tissue data to separate breast tissue from other body tissue, separating tissue data of the dense and fatty tissues in the breast, and analyzing the morphological distribution of dense tissue in the breast to derive one or more three dimensional morphological parameters of the dense tissue distribution.

Abstract: A stationary exercise apparatus includes a frame, a driving wheel assembly, two treading units, and a flywheel assembly. The flywheel assembly has a driven wheel. The driven wheel and the driving wheel assembly are positioned coaxially and pivotally. The treading units are arranged in a four-link manner and can actuate the driving wheel assembly. The driving wheel assembly drives the driven wheel to rotate at an inertial operating speed higher than the rotation speed of the driving wheel assembly. After being actuated, the stationary exercise apparatus operates continuously because of inertial rotation of the driven wheel. During their operation, pedals of the treading units keep lying on the same horizontal plane to thereby enable the user to tread smoothly and lower the prevalence of sports injuries.

The system is configured to have a predetermined phone number that a subscriber who is using the public cellular service via the private cellular system and who is not registered to use the private cellular service provided by the system can call in order to register to use the private cellular service provided by the system and, in response thereto, the system captures a subscriber identity number associated with the subscriber and assigns a private telephone number to the subscriber that is used in connection with providing private cellular service. Another embodiment is directed to a method of enabling a prepaid hybrid subscriber to make a call using a private cellular system while outside of a coverage area associated with the private cellular system.

The method comprises providing an oil phase comprising a bioactive agent, a polymer, and a release rate determined agent; providing an aqueous phase comprising a surfactant; mixing the oil phase with the aqueous phase to form the sustained release composition having a controlled release effect.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an ELISA kit for diagnosing infectious bursal disease (IBD). In particular, the present invention provides an indirect ELISA kit comprising recombinant VP2H or VP3 as the antigen for detecting anti-IBDV antibodies in serum samples. The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing infectious bursal disease (IBD) by using the ELISA kit. The present invention also provides a method for preparing the recombinant VP3 protein with high recovery yield in E. coli expression system.

Abstract: Golf glove saving pads can be used and attached to a golf glove to serve as a glove saver. The saving pads comprise at least one layer of non-slip material that has a double sided glue tape, or a layer of releasable glue in stead, at the bottom so that the golf glove saving pads can be attached onto a golf glove and secured during golf swings. The whole golf glove saving pads can be easily removed by using the hot air to soften the glue bonding to a golf glove, therefore they are replaceable. Moreover, the golf glove saving pads also serve as a moisture barrier to eliminate the effect due to the moisture from the perspiration of the hands that causes the golf glove to become weaker to sustain the stress during golf swings, therefore, the golf glove saving pad can extend the normal usage life of a golf glove.

Abstract: A grip-aid gripping bandage adopted to be disposed over a finger or glove to protect the finger when using sports equipment or a hand tool and to provide enhanced control when using the sports equipment or hand tool. A first self-adhering strip is provided having a first predetermined length. A second non-self-adhering cushioning strip overlies a portion of and is bonded to the surface of the first self-adhering strip. The entire bandage, including the first self-adhering strip and the second non-self-adhering cushioning strip, provides protection from abrasion and pressure when the bandage is applied to a finger. In a further embodiment, an insert is disposed between the first self-adhering strip and the second non-self-adhering cushioning strip for enhanced protection for the finger.
