  • Patent number: 7143927
Abstract: A bonding method using a bonding agent is provided, which has the steps of forming an underlayer on a first member, providing a bonding agent on the underlayer, forming a contact member, different from the bonding agent, on a second member, bringing the bonding agent into contact with the contact member so that the first member and the second member are bonded to each other. In the method described above, the wettability of the bonding agent to the underlayer is superior to that of the bonding agent to a surface of the first member before the underlayer is formed thereon, and the bondability of the bonding agent to the contact member is superior to that of the bonding agent to a surface of the second member before the contact member is formed thereon.

  • Patent number: 7119482
Abstract: A joining material like an In film having a low melting point forms a surface oxide film when melted. If the oxide film is thick, an uneven surface shape will remain as it is, and can cause vacuum leakage during vacuum sealing. This problem is solved, for example, by placing particles of a refractory material inside the low melting joining material. The particles of the refractory material serve as a holding member for the low melting material and break the oxide film during a joining operation to bring the seal bonding with the low melting material to perfection.

  • Publication number: 20060042748
Abstract: In a manufacturing method of forming a hermetically sealed container by bringing a pair of substrates into intimate contact via a supporting frame between them, one of the substrates is warped in a depressurized atmosphere before getting into intimate contact and is thereby separated from the other substrate so as to evacuate inside of the hermetically sealed container by releasing the depressurized atmosphere therein. Relative positions of the substrates are restored by having the warp undone thereafter. Therefore, it is possible to achieve evacuation inside the hermetically sealed container without causing the relative positions of the substrates to deviate.

  • Publication number: 20060042316
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a hermetically sealed container with a pair of substrates caused to undergo joining in an atmosphere of reduced pressure, one side of one substrate is introduced into the atmosphere of reduced pressure in a state of having undergone joining to the other substrate, and spacing between the other side of that one substrate and the other substrate is widened in the atmosphere of reduced pressure and thereby spacing between the both substrates are released in the atmosphere of reduced pressure so as to thereby make it easy to form a vacuum container between the both substrate.

  • Patent number: 6821551
Abstract: An electron-emitting device having an electroconductive film including an electron-emitting region arranged between a pair of device electrodes is manufactured. The electroconductive film is formed by applying a liquid containing the material of the film to a substrate by using an ink-jet method, then drying and heating the applied liquid. Defective conditions, if any, in the applied liquid or the precursor film formed by drying the liquid or the electroconductive film formed by heating the precursor film are detected and remedied by applying the same liquid again to the area detected for a defective condition. The detection and remedy of any defective condition may be conducted after the liquid-applying, drying or baking step.

  • Patent number: 6815001
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an electronic device including a step of giving a droplet 12 of a liquid containing a formation material of a member that constitutes the electronic device to a plurality of portions on a substrate 1 while said substrate 1 and a droplet ejecting portion 7 are moved relatively in an in-surface direction of said substrate 1, wherein the droplet 12 is given while a position on a droplet given surface to which the droplet is given is corrected in accordance with the distribution of distances between the ejecting portion 7 and the droplet 12 given surface on the substrate which occurs when the substrate 1 and the ejecting portion 7 are relatively moved. Thereby forming the member constituting the electronic device accurately at the plural portion on the substrate 1, and thus forming plural electronic device of same charactoristics.

  • Publication number: 20040213897
Abstract: A novel process for producing an electron source substrate is disclosed for formation of electron-emitting element at high efficiency with less shape irregularity. In the process, the region for electroconductive film formation is divided into plural subregions on which an electroconductive film is formed respectively. In forming the electroconductive film by application of plural liquids, the time interval between the application of the two drops is controlled to be larger than the time length necessary for suppressing the spreading of the succeedingly applied liquid within an allowable limit.

  • Patent number: 6784613
Abstract: A non-evaporating getter maintains the adsorbability for the residual gases, and in addition, secures sufficient characteristics particularly even when it experiences a high-temperature and low-vacuum condition in the fabrication process of a display unit. The non-evaporating getter includes a substrate having no function as a getter and a polycrystalline film arranged on the substrate which film contains Ti as the main component and has a host of voids in the interior thereof. A non-evaporating getter is made by forming a polycrystalline film containing Ti as the main component on the concavo-convex surface of the substrate which substrate has concavities and convexities on a surface thereof and has no function as a getter.
