  • Publication number: 20210125211
Abstract: A method of creating a parameter based reconditioning index for use in the estimation of reconditioning cost of vehicles based upon the historical reconditioning cost of similar vehicles. A modeling software component operates in conjunction with a reconditioning database containing historical reconditioning cost information to generate a mathematical reconditioning cost function corresponding to a parameter value in respect of the reconditioned vehicle for a parameter set—the function correlates historical reconditioning costs with parameter values of the related reconditioned vehicle for cost records having vehicle parameters within their historical parameter sets that correspond to the vehicle parameters within an index parameter set and which will, when applied to current parameter values of a target vehicle, yield an estimated reconditioning cost for the target vehicle. Periodic updates can be applied on receipt of additional historical reconditioning cost information.

  • Publication number: 20210118016
Abstract: A method of generating and honoring a time-limited net valuation guarantee for used target vehicles in purchase and trade-in transactions. A user would submit a captured parameter set of details related to at least one target vehicle to a pricing software component. The captured parameter set would be used to identify a gross value for the target vehicle as well as to generate an estimated reconditioning cost. The net valuation of the target vehicle, being the gross value less the estimated reconditioning cost, would be stored along with a calculated expiry date in a valuation record. Subsequent and before the calculated expiry date, the owner of the target vehicle could redeem the guarantee at a subscribing vehicle acquisition outlet and the subscribing vehicle acquisition outlet would honor the net valuation stored within the record.

  • Patent number: 10906687
Abstract: A method of custom labeling products in which users specify, via a purchasing interface, product label images in correspondence with products. A label group is generated for each of the users. The label group includes an indicator label image providing a purchase identifier and product identifiers, and the product label images arranged in a sequence specified by the product identifiers. The label groups are printed to produce printed label groups. The printed label groups are transferred to a labeling machine. A conveyor system is controlled to release, for each of the printed label groups, the sequence of the products specified by the product identifiers. Printed product labels of each of the printed label groups are applied to the corresponding sequence of the products.

  • Patent number: 10825628
Abstract: An microelectromechanical switch uses electrostatic attraction to draw a beam toward a contact and electromagnetic repulsion to disengage and repel the beam from the contact. The electrostatic attraction is generated by a gate electrode. The electromagnetic repulsion is generated between the beam and a magnetic coil positioned on the same side of the beam as the contact. The magnetic coil produces a magnetic field, which induces a current in the beam that repels the magnetic coil. The gate electrode and the magnetic coil may be co-planar or in different planes. A circuit may also operate a coil-shaped structure act as the gate electrode and the magnetic coil, depending on the configuration.

  • Patent number: 10823141
Abstract: A method for reducing loads of a wind turbine includes determining an angular pitch speed parameter of the rotor blade of the wind turbine. The method also includes determining an operational state of the wind turbine. Further, the method includes comparing the angular pitch speed parameter to a predetermined parameter threshold during turbine shutdown and/or a commanded pitch event. If the operational state corresponds to a predetermined operational state, the method includes yawing a nacelle of the wind turbine away from an incoming wind direction when the angular pitch speed parameter is below the predetermined parameter threshold during the turbine shutdown and/or the commanded pitch event.

  • Publication number: 20200294668
Abstract: Various embodiments provide interfaces to access genomic testing information and incorporate it into daily physician practice. In some embodiments, presentation of genomic alteration data is simplified and/or coupled with contextual applications. Volumes of genomic alterations and associated information (e.g., journal articles, clinical trial information, therapies, etc.) are analyzed and synthesized into actionable information items viewable on an alteration system. According to one embodiment, the system can be configured to focus practitioners on discrete portions of the alteration information on which they can act. According to other aspects, curated information is provided on the system to enable practitioners to make informed decisions regarding the implications of the presence of specific genomic alterations.

  • Patent number: 10769442
Abstract: Techniques are generally described for scene change detection. A first and second histogram representing frames of a video may be received. A Euclidean distance between the first and second histogram may be determined. A third histogram of a third frame may be received. Values of the third histogram may be compared to corresponding values of a background model of the environment. A fourth frame and a fifth frame of image data of the video may be received. A flow value between a first block of pixels of the fourth frame and a corresponding second block of pixels of the fifth frame may be determined. The flow value may be determined based on a motion vector and a sum of absolute differences between the first and second block. A portion of the video may be streamed to a remote computing device if the flow value exceeds a threshold value.
