  • Patent number: 10823141
Abstract: A method for reducing loads of a wind turbine includes determining an angular pitch speed parameter of the rotor blade of the wind turbine. The method also includes determining an operational state of the wind turbine. Further, the method includes comparing the angular pitch speed parameter to a predetermined parameter threshold during turbine shutdown and/or a commanded pitch event. If the operational state corresponds to a predetermined operational state, the method includes yawing a nacelle of the wind turbine away from an incoming wind direction when the angular pitch speed parameter is below the predetermined parameter threshold during the turbine shutdown and/or the commanded pitch event.

  • Patent number: 10825628
Abstract: An microelectromechanical switch uses electrostatic attraction to draw a beam toward a contact and electromagnetic repulsion to disengage and repel the beam from the contact. The electrostatic attraction is generated by a gate electrode. The electromagnetic repulsion is generated between the beam and a magnetic coil positioned on the same side of the beam as the contact. The magnetic coil produces a magnetic field, which induces a current in the beam that repels the magnetic coil. The gate electrode and the magnetic coil may be co-planar or in different planes. A circuit may also operate a coil-shaped structure act as the gate electrode and the magnetic coil, depending on the configuration.

  • Publication number: 20200294668
Abstract: Various embodiments provide interfaces to access genomic testing information and incorporate it into daily physician practice. In some embodiments, presentation of genomic alteration data is simplified and/or coupled with contextual applications. Volumes of genomic alterations and associated information (e.g., journal articles, clinical trial information, therapies, etc.) are analyzed and synthesized into actionable information items viewable on an alteration system. According to one embodiment, the system can be configured to focus practitioners on discrete portions of the alteration information on which they can act. According to other aspects, curated information is provided on the system to enable practitioners to make informed decisions regarding the implications of the presence of specific genomic alterations.

  • Patent number: 10769442
Abstract: Techniques are generally described for scene change detection. A first and second histogram representing frames of a video may be received. A Euclidean distance between the first and second histogram may be determined. A third histogram of a third frame may be received. Values of the third histogram may be compared to corresponding values of a background model of the environment. A fourth frame and a fifth frame of image data of the video may be received. A flow value between a first block of pixels of the fourth frame and a corresponding second block of pixels of the fifth frame may be determined. The flow value may be determined based on a motion vector and a sum of absolute differences between the first and second block. A portion of the video may be streamed to a remote computing device if the flow value exceeds a threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20200001039
Abstract: In some embodiments, a humidification system includes a heater base having a heater plate, a humidification chamber, and circuit. The circuit can include various conduits, including an inspiratory conduit, expiratory conduit, Y-piece, patient conduit, and/or dry conduit. In use, the chamber contains a quantity of liquid. The heater base heats the heater plate, which in turn heats the liquid to a temperature that causes at least some of the liquid to become vapor, thereby humidifying the gases within the chamber. The gas is delivered to the patient via the inspiratory conduit. Various features can help control the system and ensure the patient receives gases having the desired conditions. These features can be used individually or in various combinations and subcombinations both in existing humidification systems and improved systems for respiratory humidification, laparoscopy, and other purposes.
