  • Publication number: 20220116323
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing high performant packets processing capabilities in a virtualized cloud environment that enhance the scalability and high availability of the packets processing infrastructure. In certain embodiments disclosed herein, the VNICs functionality performed by network virtualization devices (NVDs) is offloaded from the NVDs to a fleet of computers, referred to as VNIC-as-a-Service System (or VNICaaS system). VNICaaS system is configured to provide Virtual Network Interface Cards (VNICs)-related functionality or service for multiple compute instances belonging to multiple tenants or customers of the CSPI. The VNICaaS system is capable of hosting multiple VNICs to process and transmit traffic in a distributed virtualized cloud networks environment. A single VNIC executed by the VNICaaS system can be used to process packets received from multiple compute instances.

  • Patent number: 11262300
Abstract: Dust accumulation monitors are provided to autonomously monitor dust accumulations. The dust accumulation monitors include a casing having a translucent portion, a light sensor configured to output a sensing signal based on sensed light penetrating through the translucent portion, a controller coupled to the light sensor to receive the sensing signal and configured to output a dust alert signal based on the received sensing signal, and a communication interface coupled to the controller and configured to output an alert based on the dust alert signal output by the controller. A dust accumulation monitoring system includes a plurality of dust accumulation monitors, and a central monitor communicatively connected to each of the plurality of dust accumulation monitors and configured to receive dust sensing signals from each of the plurality of dust accumulation monitors. The dust accumulation monitors may communicate through wired or wireless links with the central monitor.

  • Publication number: 20210348281
Abstract: A cathodic protection (CP) interruption system includes a metallic structure and a plurality of passive CP units embedded in an electrolytic medium, a plurality of test units electrically coupled with the structure and each of the CP units, and a low-power consumption component arrangement. The arrangement includes a real-time clock (RTC) and a GPS receiver coupled with each test unit for receiving GPS time from a GPS satellite. A controller is communicatively coupled with each RTC and GPS receiver for activating the GPS receiver once the RTC reaches a predetermined time to synchronize a RTC time of each RTC with GPS time. Interruption modules are coupled in electrical and data communication with the controller. The controller selectively changes an activation state of each interruption module once the RTC time reaches a predetermined activation state change time to selectively electrically couple or decouple each CP unit from the structure.

  • Patent number: 11158425
Abstract: Various embodiments provide interfaces to access genomic testing information and incorporate it into daily physician practice. According to one aspect, a graph-based data model is used that may be used to organizes and revise precision medicine knowledge. In one example structure, gene states are abstracted into alteration groups, where alteration groups are built using reverse engineering actionable information and storing that information within the graph-based data structure. Volumes of genomic alterations and associated information (e.g., journal articles, clinical trial information, therapies, etc.) are analyzed and synthesized into actionable information items viewable on an alteration system in a graph-based data format. According to one embodiment, the system can be configured to focus practitioners on discrete portions of the alteration information on which they can act.

  • Publication number: 20210304850
Abstract: One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a method of quantifying soil carbon in a unit of land. The method generally comprises the steps of (i) obtaining an estimated spatial distribution of carbon content in the unit of land, (ii) stratifying the unit of land into a plurality of strata based at least partly on the spatial distribution of carbon content, (iii) selecting one or more locations from each of one or more of the plurality of strata, the one or more locations being selected with randomness, (iv) determining sample carbon content associated with the one or more first locations and (v) determining total carbon content in the unit of land based at least partly on the sample carbon content. In another aspect, this method may be used to quantify soil carbon sequestered in a unit of land by repeating steps (iv) and (v) at a second time and thereafter determining the amount of carbon sequestered.
