  • Publication number: 20220330997
Abstract: A focused treatment tip (FTT) for controlling the evaporation rate and providing targeted delivery of low temperature liquified gases for contact with living tissue includes a contoured body. When filled with liquified gas, the device insulates the gas from waste heat sources, such as the surrounding environment. The device can control the evaporation rate of the liquified gas at the treatment site. The controlled evaporation rate affects the rate of heat transfer from the treated tissue allowing for controlled exposure times and desired outcomes. The device can be used with various application tips to further define the target tissue area to be treated while minimizing collateral damage to surrounding tissue and isolating the gas within the contoured body and focusing heat transfer to the desired treatment area. The device may use transparent materials that make the treatment visible to the operator while the liquified gas is evaporating.

  • Publication number: 20220336130
Abstract: Described herein are concepts, system and techniques which provide a means to construct robust high-field superconducting magnets using simple fabrication techniques and modular components that scale well toward commercialization. The resulting magnet assembly—which utilizes non-insulated, high temperature superconducting tapes (HTS) and provides for optimized coolant pathways—is inherently strong structurally, which enables maximum utilization of the high magnetic fields available with HTS technology. In addition, the concepts described herein provide for control of quench-induced current distributions within the tape stack and surrounding superstructure to safely dissipate quench energy, while at the same time obtaining acceptable magnet charge time. The net result is a structurally and thermally robust, high-field magnet assembly that is passively protected against quench fault conditions.

  • Publication number: 20220327251
Abstract: Methods and systems for designing and manufacturing RF devices is provided. The disclosed methods allow for quick and efficient printing without having to generate a CAD file or the like to generate the build file. This can be achieved by receiving RF inputs, such as inputs generated from an RF simulation, and combining that with geometry design data, such as boundary geometry information that can include an outer geometry and size of the device to be printed. Further, the RF devices that are produced can use triply periodic minimal surface constructs as the base element of the device.

  • Patent number: 11354273
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to managing data in a file system. The file system that includes storage nodes that may be associated with storage volumes that may have a different capacity for storing data. A storage capacity of the file system may be determined based on a number of stripes of data that fit in the file system such that each stripe may be comprised of chunks that have a same chunk storage capacity. Slots in the file system that each match the chunk storage capacity may be determined based on the storage volumes. The chunks may be assigned to the slots in the file system based on the capacity of the storage nodes such that a number of chunks allocated to a same storage volume or a same storage node may be based on protection factor information.

  • Patent number: 11277072
Abstract: Multi-phase-shift control of a power converter is provided. The power converter includes a dual-active-bridge (DAB) converter having a transformer, a first H-bridge coupled to the primary winding of the transformer, and a second H-bridge coupled to the secondary winding of the transformer. The DAB converter is operable to generate two-level and three-level voltage waveforms on the primary winding and on the secondary winding to yield a system which ensures zero-voltage switching and unity power factor over a wide range of input and output voltage levels and power throughputs. In a multi-phase shift (MPS) mode of operation, the DAB converter changes from a two-level voltage in at least one of the windings to a three-level voltage in both windings in response to the instantaneous load being below a predetermined level, resulting in more efficient performance of the DAB converter in light load conditions.
