  • Publication number: 20160147575
Abstract: A method includes storing a plurality of workloads in a first disk resource associated with a high end disk classification. The method further includes determining a corresponding activity level for each of the plurality of workloads. The method also includes classifying each of the plurality of workloads into a first set indicative of high-priority workloads and a second set indicative of low-priority workloads based on whether the corresponding activity level is greater than a threshold activity level. The method further includes determining whether a second disk resource associated with a low end disk classification can accommodate storage of a first particular workload in the second set based on an available storage capacity of the second disk resource. The method additionally includes migrating the first particular workload from the first disk resource to the second disk resource.

  • Publication number: 20160060183
Abstract: The present invention relates to a product Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed sap free of Gibberellic acid (GA3) and its method of preparation. Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed sap is a plant stimulant found to enhance yield and quality of a number of crops. Besides containing many macro- and micro-nutrients, there are many plant growth hormones present in Kappaphycus alvarezii sap. It has been observed that pristine Kappaphycus alvarezii sap and GA3 free sap enhanced grain yield but surprisingly selective removal of GA3 from the pristine sap had profound stimulating effect on total dry above ground biomass yield of maize over and above the pristine sap. Upon seed treatment with GA3 free sap, ?-amylase enzyme activity in the germinating seed of mung bean is found to be increased. The foliar spray of GA3 free sap on tomato plants upregulated disease responsive genes (PR-3 and PR-5) as compared to pristine sap.

  • Publication number: 20160055262
Abstract: A method of identifying duplicate crash dumps in a computer system may include receiving a first crash dump caused by an application crash, extracting a first function signature of a function that caused the first crash dump, and searching a datastore of crash dumps for function signatures that substantially match the first function signature. The searching may include performing an approximate string-match between each of the function signatures the first function signature and performing an exact string match between each of the function signatures and the first function signature. The searching may also include combining weighted results of the approximate string-match with weighted results of the exact string match to generate match scores for each of the function signatures, and identifying the function signatures that substantially match the first function signature based on the match scores.

  • Publication number: 20160028252
Abstract: Techniques for controlling the charging of portable devices are described herein. In an example embodiment, an apparatus comprises a controller coupled to a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port that is configured as a dedicated charging port (DCP). The controller is configured to detect whether a battery-charging (BC) compliant device or a BC non-compliant device is attached to the USB port. When a BC compliant device is detected, the controller controls the charging of the BC compliant device (e.g., by providing a maximum of 1.5 A of charging current). When a BC non-compliant device is detected, the controller controls the charging of the BC non-compliant device by providing a higher (e.g., up to 2.4 A) charging current.

  • Patent number: 9247476
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for coordinating power management for wireless communications devices in an independent basic service set (IBSS). An announcement traffic indication message (ATIM) coordinator receives address information for destination stations for which data is buffered for transmission at source stations. The ATIM coordinator sends an ATIM Indication frame at the end of an ATIM window, alerting any destination station to remain awake to receive buffered data. Source stations may enter power save mode during the ATIM window after transmitting the address information for the destination stations to the ATIM coordinator. Destination stations may enter power save mode after receiving a beacon at the start of the ATIM window. Source and destination stations may awaken at the end of the ATIM window to receive the ATIM Indication frame.

  • Patent number: 9220773
Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition for intraperitoneal delivery of an anti-neoplastic agent is provided for treating cancers associated with aberrant mucin expression, preferably ovarian cancer and pancreatic, prostate, metastatic breast, bladder and lung cancers. The composition comprises nanomicelles loaded with the anti-neoplastic agent, and antibodies such as anti-MUC16, anti-MUC1 or anti-MUC4 are conjugated to these nanomicelles. The antibody-bound nanomicelles are optionally embedded in a biodegradable pH- and thermo-responsive hydrogel capable of sol-gel transition at body temperature. The pharmaceutical composition is implantable in the peritoneum, where it transforms into a semi-solid gel at the body's core temperature. In response to pH, the hydrogel swells and releases the antibody-bound nanomicelles. The nanomicelles specifically target mucin antigens on cancer cells.
