  • Patent number: 9207997
Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to construct a memory barrier to protect a thread-specific use counter by serializing parallel instruction execution. If a reader thread is new and a writer thread is not waiting to access data to be read by the reader thread, the thread-specific use counter is created and associated with a read data structure and a write data structure. The thread-specific use counter may be incremented if a writer thread is not waiting. If the writer thread is waiting to access the data after the thread-specific use counter is created, then the thread-specific use counter is decremented without accessing the data by the reader thread. Otherwise, the data is accessed by the reader thread and then the thread-specific use counter is decremented. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9191332
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for updating sequence and acknowledgment numbers associated with replay packets are disclosed. In one example, a method includes generating, at a sending peer node, a replay packet that includes a payload associated with a capture file packet and accessing, in the sending peer node, a sequence-differential (SEQ-DIFF) list using an original sequence number associated with the replay packet. The method further includes traversing entries in the SEQ-DIFF list, wherein each of the entries includes a sequence number and a payload length differential value, applying, for each traversed entry in the SEQ-DIFF list, the payload length differential value to the original sequence number to determine an updated sequence number for the replay packet, and transmitting, from the sending peer node to a receiving peer node, the replay packet that includes the updated sequence number.

  • Publication number: 20150327203
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for merging two or more power save enabled independent basic service set (IBSS) networks. In one example, a method includes receiving, at a station of a first IBSS network, a first beacon from a second IBSS network, wherein the first beacon identifies a timing synchronization function (TSF) of the second IBSS network. The method may further include transmitting, by the station, a second beacon at a next target beacon transmission time (TBTT) of the first IBSS network based on a comparison of the TSF of the second IBSS network with a TSF stored by the station, wherein the second beacon identifies a TSF of the second IBSS network.

  • Publication number: 20150327148
Abstract: This application discloses methods for creating self-organizing networks implemented on heterogeneous mesh networks. The self-organizing networks can include a computing cloud component coupled to the heterogeneous mesh network. In the methods and computer-readable mediums disclosed herein, a processor determines if a user equipment (UE) should hand over its service from a base station to a multi-radio access technology (RAT) node, based on heuristics including one or more of: a distance traveled over a time T1, an average speed over a time T2, a destination stored in internal memory within the UE, a speed limit measurement for a nearby road, a possible direction in which the UE could travel, a signal strength measurement for a servicing base station, and a signal strength measurement for the multi-RAT node. A position profile may be used to predict a future location of the UE.

  • Patent number: 9170849
Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for providing resources by way of a platform as a service in a distributed computing environment to perform a job. Resources of the system, job performing on the system, and schedulers of the jobs performing on the system are decoupled in a manner that allows a job to easily migrate among resources. It is contemplated that the migration of jobs from a first pool of resource to a second pool of resource is performed by the system without human intervention. The migration of a job may utilize different schedulers for the different resources. Further, it is contemplated that a pool of resources may automatically allocate additional or fewer resources in response to a migration of a job.

  • Patent number: 9136751
Abstract: A magnetic shield having non-magnetic gaps provides reduced magnetic cross-talk for a linear motor array in a precision positioning system. Redirecting the leakage flux limits the cross-talk and associated deleterious effects. Such preferred magnetic circuit paths for the leakage are affixed to the moving magnet system of the linear motor. Embodiments of the preferred flux leakage paths are realized by providing a ferromagnetic shield separated by a non-magnetic gap between the permanent magnets and the back-irons. In another embodiment, the ferromagnetic shield separation includes diamagnetic materials.

  • Patent number: 9113352
Abstract: This application discloses methods for creating self-organizing networks implemented on heterogeneous mesh networks. The self-organizing networks can include a computing cloud component coupled to the heterogeneous mesh network. In the methods and computer-readable mediums disclosed herein, a processor receives an environmental condition for a mesh network. The processor may have measured the environmental condition, or it could have received it from elsewhere, e.g., internally stored information, a neighboring node, a server located in a computing cloud, a network element, user equipment (“UE”), and the like. After receiving the environmental condition, the processor evaluates it and determines whether an operational parameter within the mesh network should change to better optimize network performance.
