  • Publication number: 20140310125
Abstract: A computer receives a first set of geographic restrictions on the sale of an item from a seller. The computer receives an offer for purchase of the item from a buyer, wherein the offer includes geographic information of the buyer. The computer determines whether the geographic information of the buyer satisfies the first set of geographic restrictions on the sale of the item. Based on the determination of whether the geographic information of the buyer satisfies the first set of geographic restrictions on the sale of the item, the computer determines whether to transmit the offer for purchase of the item to the seller.

Abstract: A system and method of forming a vessel may include providing multiple operation wheels configured in opposing facing pairs. Each operation wheel may include multiple work zones, each work zone of an operation wheel being configured in an opposing facing pair with a work zone of another operation wheel to engage the vessel and perform a forming operation on the vessel. Opposing facing pairs of the operation wheels may be linearly pushed to a closed position to engage the vessel, and pulled to an open position. The work zone(s) may perform least one forming operation on the vessel. The vessel may be indexed through the operations at a rotational timing coordinated to index the vessel when opposing facing pairs of the operation wheels are in the open position, the indexing may be clockwise or counterclockwise based on whether a decoration operation is to be performed on the vessel.

  • Patent number: 8862810
Abstract: A solid state device (SSD) write operation management system including a file system that incorporates SSD status information into its operational logic is disclosed. By incorporating SSD status information, the system achieves various advantages over conventional systems, such as enhanced write performance and extended SSD lifespan. The system processes various criteria to select the optimal virtual device (“vdev”) for data allocation in response to a write request. The first criterion utilizes Program/Erase counts of physical blocks contained in the SSDs. Another criterion is the number of physical free blocks of a drive. If the average of the selected vdev's physical free blocks is higher than the OP threshold, then the system selects for data allocation the vdev with the greatest amount of logical free space. In the instance that the average is lower, the system schedules garbage collection for the vdev.

  • Patent number: 8862509
Abstract: A method for generating a personal identification number (PIN) debit child product for use in performing a debit payment transaction with a merchant entity. A payment processing platform receives a user selection of a financial institution made via a merchant payment page and directs the user to authenticate a user identity with the financial institution. The payment processing platform receives a user selection of a core account held with the financial institution, such that the core account provides financial backing for the PIN debit child product. The PIN debit child product is generated that includes a child card number and a virtual PIN associated with the core account. Advantageously, the method provides the ability to make PIN debit transaction on the Internet.

Abstract: A method of fabricating an artefact (15) includes treating natural fibres (1 10) with a non-halogenated flame retardant agent (120), the fibres (1 10) also being treated with a smoke suppressant (120). At least one pre-preg is formed (170, 180) from the treated natural fibres and from a resin composition (160) including a smoke suppressant (150) admixed therein (160). An uncured artefact is formed from a core or substrate (12) and the pre-preg, which provides a skin, and is cured (210). A non-fibrous silicate fire resistant material (190, 230) is introduced by: (i) admixing the fire resistant material with the resin composition, and/or (ii) applying the fire resistant material to an outer surface of the pre-preg or an outer surface of the skin of the uncured artefact, and/or (iii) applying the fire resistant material to an outer surface of the skin of the cured artefact. • Publication number: 20140304393
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed towards systems and methods for lightweight identification of flow information by application. A flow monitor executed by a processor of a device may maintain a counter. The flow monitor may associate an application with the value of the counter and transmit, to a data collector executed by a second device, the counter value and a name of the application. The flow monitor may monitor a data flow associated with the application to generate a data record. The flow monitor may transmit the data record to the data collector, the data record including an identification of the application consisting of the counter value and not including the name of the application. The data collector may then re-associate the data record with the application name based on the previously received counter value.

  • Publication number: 20140304294
Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure provide for caching, by a device intermediary to a client and a database, a result of a structured query language (SQL) query request. In some embodiments, the device intermediary to a plurality of clients and a database receives a SQL response from the database to a first SQL query request of a client of the plurality of clients. The device may maintain a cache of SQL responses from the database. The device may identify that the first SQL query request matches a rule of a policy for caching SQL responses from the database. The policy may include a cache action to take when the rule is matched. The device may perform, responsive to the policy, on the SQL response the cache action identified by the policy.

  • Publication number: 20140304763
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments involve a computing system requesting and receiving a socket policy file from a policy file server via a secure socket connection, identifying that the security policy requires communicating with a content server via a secure socket connection, and communicating with the content server via a second secure socket connection. The socket policy file specifies a security policy governing socket connections to a content server over a transport protocol layer. Additional embodiments involve requesting a socket policy file via a non-secure socket connection, receiving (via the non-secure socket connection) a placeholder socket policy file requiring requests for socket policy files to be communicated via a secure socket connection, establishing a secure socket connection with the policy file server, and submitting a request for the socket policy file to the policy file server via the secure socket connection.

  • Publication number: 20140301327
Abstract: In this invention, we disclose methods directed toward integrating an ad hoc cellular network into a fixed cellular network. The methods disclosed herein automate the creation and integration of these networks. In additional embodiments, we disclose methods for establishing a stand-alone, ad hoc cellular network. In either of these implementations, we integrate or establish an ad hoc cellular network using mobile ad hoc cellular base stations configured to transmit and receive over a variety of frequencies, protocols, and duplexing schemes. The methods flexibly and dynamically choose an access or backhaul configuration and radio characteristics to optimize network performance. Additional embodiments provide for enhancing an existing network's coverage as needed, establishing a local network in the event of a loss of backhaul coverage to the core network, and providing local wireless access service within the ad hoc cellular network.

  • Publication number: 20140304425
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing congestion control to a transport control protocol implementation are described. A device detects that there is a congestion event on a transport control protocol (TCP) connection of the device. The device determines that a bandwidth estimate is lower than half a current value of a slow start threshold for the TCP connection. In response to the determination, the device changes the slow start threshold to half of the current value of the slow start threshold for the TCP connection. The bandwidth estimate can be the product of the eligible rate estimate and the minimum round trip time. In some implementations, the transport control protocol implementation is a TCP Westwood implementation.
