Abstract: The invention relates to fluoropolymer filament for use in 3-D printing, and 3-D printed fluoropolymer articles having low warpage, excellent chemical resistance, excellent water resistance, flame resistance, and good mechanical integrity. Additionally, the articles of the invention have good shelf life without the need for special packaging. In particular, the invention relates to filament, 3-D printed polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) articles, and in particular material extrusion 3-D printing. The articles may be formed from PVDF homopolymers, copolymers, such as KYNAR® resins from Arkema, as well as polymer blends with appropriately defined low shear melt viscosity. The PVDF may optionally be a filled PVDF formulation. The physical properties of the 3-D printed articles can be maximized and warpage minimized by optimizing processing parameters.

  • Publication number: 20190110987
Abstract: Hybrid amphiphilic star copolymer nano micelles are prepared in the invention. Cage shaped octa(?-aminopropyl) silsesquioxanes is selected as the inorganic part, and L-glutamic benzyl ester-five membered ring anhydride is ring-opening polymerized by the initiation of amino groups on the surface of cage shaped octa(?-aminopropyl) silsesquioxanes, producing copolymers with cage shaped octa(?-aminopropyl) silsesquioxanes as nucleus and poly (L-glutamic-benzyl ester) as arms. The copolymers reacts with monomethoxy poly (ethylene glycol) carboxylic acid by condensation. Finally, the benzyl groups in the side chains of poly (L-glutamic acid-benzyl ester) are converted into hydrazine groups by acylhydrazination to obtain hybrid amphiphilic star copolymer nano micelles. The micelles can load doxorubicin, they are safe to human body and have good application prospects.

  • Publication number: 20190091147
Abstract: Disclosed is a preparation method for charge reversal and reversibly crosslinked redox-sensitive nanomicelles, falling within the technical field of biomedical materials. The method comprises: synthesizing thiocinamide from lipoic acid and ethylenediamine under an N,N?-carbonyl diimidazole catalyst; and polymerizing thiocinamide, polyethylene glycol diglycidyl ether and lysine through a nucleophilic addition mechanism to prepare a poly(lysine-co-polyethylene glycol diglycidyl ether-co-thiocinamide) terpolymer. The micelle is endowed with excellent anti-protein nonspecific adsorption and enhanced cell uptake property through a self-assembly and protonation/deprotonation action; and a disulfide bond in lipoyl may form a linear polydisulfide structure under the action of 1,4-dithiothreitol, so that a micelle core is crosslinked, and a crosslinked structure is destroyed in the cell under a redox condition, and controlled release of a drug can be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20190021619
Abstract: A nanowire probe sensor array including a substrate with a metal pattern thereon. An array of semiconductor vertical nanowire probes extends away from the substrate, and at least some of probes, and preferably all, are individually electrically addressed through the metal pattern. The metal pattern is insulated with dielectric, and base and stem portions of the nanowires are also preferably insulated. A fabrication process patterns metal connections on a substrate. A semiconductor substrate is bonded to the metal pattern. The semiconductor substrate is etched to form the neural nanowire probes that are bonded to the metal pattern. Dielectric is then deposited to insulate the metal pattern.

  • Publication number: 20180094054
Abstract: This application provides, inter alia, antibodies or antigen-binding fragments thereof, targeting cell surface GRP78 expressed on tumor cells, tumor endothelial cells, and tumor initiating cancer cells. These anti-GRP78 antibodies, or antigen-binding fragments thereof, have a high affinity for GRP78 and are less immunogenic compared to their unmodified parent antibodies in a given species, e.g., a human, and function to inhibit GRP78. Importantly, these isolated novel antibodies and antigen-binding fragments thereof, attenuate PI3K signaling and promote apoptosis in tumor cells, while leaving normal cells unaffected. The antibodies and antigen-binding fragments are useful for UPR-targeted cancer therapeutic treatments.
