  • Publication number: 20160057302
Abstract: In a method for scanning a book including a plurality of pages, a property of the plurality of pages is measured between a plurality of points on the top of the book and a plurality of points on the bottom of the book to generate a plurality of data values. The plurality of data values are grouped into a plurality of levels corresponding to the plurality of pages. A determination is made for each of the plurality of the points at each of the plurality of levels whether ink is present. Pixel data is generated, indicative of one of the presence or absence of ink at each of the plurality of points for each of the plurality of levels. An image is generated using the pixel data for each of the plurality of levels.

  • Publication number: 20160048536
Abstract: A configured machine performs image matching and retrieval of natural images that may depict logos. The machine generates and uses color-localized spatial masks, which may be computationally less expensive than spatial verification techniques. Key points are detected within images that form a reference database of images. Local masks are defined by the machine around each key point based on the scale and orientation of the key point. To utilize color information presented in logo images, ordered color histograms may be extracted by the machine from locally masked regions of each image. A cascaded index may then be constructed for both visual descriptors and color histograms. For faster matching, the cascaded index maps the visual descriptors and color histograms to a list of relevant or similar images. This list may then be ranked to generate relevant matches for an input query image.

  • Publication number: 20160049400
Abstract: A range of lowest, low and regular threshold voltages are provided to three p-type devices and three n-type devices co-fabricated on a same substrate. For the p-type devices, the range is achieved for the lowest using an additional thick layer of a p-type work function metal in a gate structure and oxidizing it, the low Vt is achieved with the thick p-type work function metal alone, and the regular Vt is achieved with a thinner layer of the p-type work function metal. For the n-type devices, the lowest Vt is achieved by implanting tantalum nitride with arsenic, argon, silicon or germanium and not adding any of the additional p-type work function metal in the gate structure, the low Vt is achieved by not adding the additional p-type work function metal, and the regular Vt is achieved with a thinnest layer of the p-type work function metal.

  • Patent number: 9263541
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a high-K dielectric film for use with silicon germanium (SiGe) or germanium channel materials, and methods of fabrication. As a first step of this process, an interfacial layer (IL) is formed on the semiconductor substrate providing reduced interface trap density. However, an ultra-thin layer is used as a barrier film to avoid germanium diffusion in high-k film and oxygen diffusion from the high-k film to the interfacial layer (IL), therefore, dielectric films such as aluminum oxide (Al2O3), zirconium oxide, or lanthanum oxide (La2O3) may be used. In addition, these films can provide high thermal budget. A second dielectric layer is then deposited on the first dielectric layer. The second dielectric layer is a high-k dielectric layer, providing a reduced effective oxide thickness (EOT), resulting in improved device performance.

  • Patent number: 9264985
Abstract: Apparatus and methods of controlling call establishment are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine to establish a call. In an aspect, the UE may detect a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) access node and receive, from a Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) access node, WWAN load-related information. Based on UE call establishment rules and the WWAN load-related information, the UE may determine whether to establish the call on the WWAN access node or the WLAN access node. In another aspect, the UE may determine WLAN access node characteristics associated with a received signal from a WLAN access node. The UE may forward a call establishment request, including the WLAN access node characteristics to a WWAN access node. The UE may receive a redirection command to redirect the call establishment request to the WLAN access node.

  • Patent number: 9262484
Abstract: A similarity measure is computed between nodes of first and second networks. Sets of pairwise scores are computed to find nodes in the individual networks that are good matches to one another. A pairwise score is computed for a node i in the first network and a node j in the second network. Similar pairwise scores are computed for each of the nodes in each network. The process identifies node pairs that exhibit high pairwise values. Preferably, nodes i and j are a good match if their neighbors are a good match. This technique produces a measure of network similarity. If node feature data is available, nodes i and j are considered a good match if their neighbors are a good match (network similarity) and their node features are a good match (node similarity). Using the similarity scores, a common subgraph between the first and second networks is computed.

  • Publication number: 20160042117
Abstract: Computer implemented techniques are disclosed for fixing signal hold-time violations in semiconductor chips. Analysis includes estimation of hold-time requirements using ideal clocks. Allocation of placement regions within the design and near the macro circuits allows for later placement and wiring use during layout hold-time fixing. The placement region sizes are based on estimates of the needed buffers. Nets, within the design for detail routing, are ordered such that nets with hold-time violations are wired later, thus fixing hold-time violations without scaling or adding further buffers. Hold times are re-evaluated once wiring of track routes is complete.

  • Patent number: 9256425
Abstract: Techniques are provided for versioning and refactoring of mashups. During the design phase of a mashup that is operable to access multiple external services, design information that defines or modifies a plurality of design elements included in the mashup is received from a user. Without receiving from the user any input that causes the plurality of design elements to be versioned, current versions of the plurality of design elements are automatically stored in a repository when the plurality of design elements are saved during development of the mashup. The mashup is deployed to one or more servers. Without receiving any input from the user that causes the mashup to be versioned, deploying the mashup comprises automatically storing in the repository a current version of the mashup and versioning information that associates the current version of the mashup with the current versions of the plurality of design elements.
