    Abstract: A method for driving a liquid crystal display (LCD) is disclosed. The LCD includes a common electrode, a pixel electrode, and a liquid crystal layer having a plurality of impurity ions. The method includes: separating the impurity ions toward the common electrode and the pixel electrode to form an internal electric field in the liquid crystal layer; and providing a common voltage for the common electrode, and providing a first compensation voltage and a second compensation voltage for the pixel electrode. The first compensation voltage and the second compensation voltage herein are utilized to compensate the internal electric field so that a difference between the first compensation voltage and the common voltage is equal to a difference between the second compensation voltage and the common voltage. Charge accumulation is formed intentionally, and then the first compensation voltage and the second compensation voltage are provided to correctly display images.

After one remote controller directly emits the infrared signal to the infrared receiver and the control circuit simultaneously performs a stipulated learning operation, the remote controller is set as the designated remote controller. Moreover, before the stipulated learning operation is performed, an action of announcing the stipulated learning operation is not done.

    Abstract: A detecting device includes at least one transmitter and plural receivers. After the at least one transmitter emits plural incident light beams to a detection zone, plural reflected light beams reflected from the detection zone are received by the plural receivers. If no object is moved within the detection zone, the plural reflected light beams strike a first part of the plural receivers, so that the plural receivers are in an initial reception configuration. If an object is moved within the detection zone, the plural reflected light beams are disturbed by the object and deflected to a second part of the plural receivers, so that the plural receivers are in a disturbed reception configuration. According to the reception configuration change, a moving direction of the object within the detection zone is determined. Consequently, the detecting range is largely enhanced, and the cost is reduced.

    Abstract: A cascade-connected boost circuit is disclosed. The cascade-connected boost circuit includes a first-stage boost circuit, a second-stage boost circuit, an output terminal and a regulation filtering capacitor. The first-stage boost circuit includes an input terminal, a PWM generator, a first inductor and a first switch. The second-stage boost circuit includes a second inductor and a second switch. The PWM generator controls the first switch and the second switch to turn on or turn off simultaneously. A power supply from the input terminal respectively charges the two inductors via two paths when the two switches are turned on. The two inductors release energy when the two switches are turned off. The two switches share the voltage of the output terminal. The cascade-connected boost circuit according to the present invention solves the issues that the withstand voltage limit of a single switch and the limit of a duty cycle.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a method of selecting a mRNA for production of a polypeptide of interest comprising: a) producing an array of individual mRNA sequences comprising different nucleotide sequences encoding the polypeptide of interest; b) determining one or more or two or more of the following parameters for each individual mRNA sequence of (a): (i) minimum free energy (MFE) RNA secondary structure; (ii) ensemble free energy (EFE); (iii) frequency of the minimum free energy (FMFE) RNA secondary structure in a thermodynamic ensemble; and (iv) ensemble diversity (ED); c) ranking the individual mRNA sequences of the array according the parameters determined in step (b); and d) selecting a mRNA sequence from the ranked array of step (c), wherein the selected mRNA produces the polypeptide of interest. The present invention further provides a method of selecting a mRNA for enhanced and reduced production of a polypeptide of interest.
