  • Publication number: 20110246389
Abstract: A spooler for a computerized trading system is provided. The spooler acts as a master to a calculation engine slave that calculates the desired state of the orders and quotes in the market. Thus, the spooler controls the high-level allocation of computational and communicational resources of the computerized trading system and the calculation engine receives from the spooler what to calculate. The spooler imposes when necessary an overall priority of calculation of the trading system that supports the spooling activity. The spooler comprises a scheduler and a package assembly. The scheduler determines the current state of the underlying prices relative to the underlying prices used to calculate quotes still active in the exchange and whether the computational resources of the trading system should focus as much as possible on preparing quoting operations, or whether other activities of the trading system can be done.

  • Patent number: 8030437
Abstract: A method for forming a polyimide composite article utilizes a polyimide resin system including at least a first prepolymer component and a second prepolymer component. A preform structure is tackified with the first prepolymer component. Using resin infusion or resin transfer molding techniques, the tackified preform structure is contacted with the second prepolymer component. The polyimide resin system is cured under suitable cure conditions so that the first and second prepolymer components mix and react to produce the polyimide composite structure.

  • Publication number: 20110199372
Abstract: A method of detecting an object in an image at a client device is described. This method comprises the steps of: receiving from a server a two dimensional image of a scene, the scene being captured by a camera and the image comprising an object located within the scene, receiving from the server position data, the position data being indicative of the position of the object within the image; receiving from the server an outline representation of the object at that position, the outline representation defining for pixel positions in a segment of the image at that position whether the pixel position represents the object; and on the basis of said outline, detecting the object in the image.

Abstract: A method of communicating on a single serial line between two devices is disclosed. The method includes combining a data stream and a clock to form a three-voltage level stream such that the third voltage level records the transitions of the clock while the serial data is either high or low. Either the first or the second device can send a combined stream on the line. The method further includes, in some embodiments, the second device driving the same voltage levels as those transmitted by the first device and the first device sensing current on the single serial line to determine that the second device has received data from the first device.

  • Patent number: 7971366
Abstract: An alignment tool removably attachable to a bit (e.g. a drill bit) for aligning a workpiece to the bit. The tool has a bit grip or a bit clamp which may have a pair of bit grippers, an aligner, which may be a pointer supported by a pointer mount, a stylus or a laser, and a mechanical linkage of the bit grip to the aligner. When the aligner is aligned with a target, a tip of a bit clamped by the bit grip would also be aligned with that target. A first stylus link may be movably connected to a second stylus link at the pointer mount. The first and second stylus links may be pivotally connected to the bit clamp. The bit clamp, the first and second stylus links may cooperate to align a central axis of the pointer with a central axis of the bit.

  • Publication number: 20110156773
Abstract: A frequency synthesis circuit is disclosed. The circuit includes a phase-locked loop and multi-phase oscillator such as a rotary traveling wave oscillator (RTWO). The oscillator provides a plurality of phases that are applied to a selection circuit. The selection circuit, in response to the output of a delta-sigma modulator, selects one of the phases of the multi-phase oscillator to minimize phase shift noise when the divider ratio in the loop changes, thereby eliminating a source of noise that contaminates the synthesized frequency. This permits the use of the frequency synthesis in applications requiring a high degree of spectral purity.

  • Publication number: 20110059001
Abstract: The present application is directed to a method and system for monetizing energy. More specifically, the invention is directed to the economically efficient utilization of remote or stranded natural gas resources. The invention includes importing a high energy density material into an energy market and distributing the high energy density material (HEDM) therein. The HEDM is produced from reduction of a material oxide such as boria into the HEDM, which may be boron. The reduction utilizes remote hydrocarbon resources such as stranded natural gas resources.

  • Publication number: 20110048701
Abstract: A method for determining integrity of annular seals in wellbores. In an embodiment, two wellbores are selected that extend through a common geological formation which is capable of sealing against casing sections located in the wellbores. A pressure test is typically carried out in a first of the wellbores to check that the formation provides an effective seal, and a logging tool is typically run to obtain well log data from which can be derived a characteristic response that is associated with the formation providing an effective annular seal around the casing section in the first wellbore. A logging tool may then be run in the second of the wellbores to obtain a second set of well log data, which are comparable with the characteristic response to determine whether the formation provides an effective annular seal in the second wellbore.
