  • Patent number: 7600979
Abstract: A ceramic matrix composite (CMC) component for gas turbine engines, the component having fine features such as thin edges with thicknesses of less than about 0.030 inches and small radii of less that about 0.030 inches formed using the combination of prepreg plies layed up with non-ply ceramic inserts. The CMC components of the present invention replace small ply inserts cut to size to fit into areas of contour change or thickness change, and replace the small ply inserts with a fabricated single piece discontinuously reinforced composite insert, resulting in fewer defects, such as wrinkles, and better dimensional control.

  • Patent number: 7593396
Abstract: A system and method are provided for reviewing and updating a subscriber's telecommunications services using a graphical user interface via multiple data networks. A data message is received at an intelligent peripheral from the graphical user interface via at least one of the data networks. The data message indicates a subscriber's desired update to a selected service. The data message is converted into a protocol compatible with a service control point. The converted data message is identical to a data message that the intelligent peripheral would create if the subscriber had entered the desired update via an interactive voice response system. The converted data message is transmitted to the service control point, which updates the service in accordance with the subscriber's update. Thus, the service is updated substantially contemporaneously with the request. Moreover, the subscriber retains the ability to update and review service data via the interactive voice response.

  • Patent number: 7565690
Abstract: A system daemon starts through normal system startup procedures and reads its configuration file to determine which data entities (e.g., directories and files) are to be monitored. The monitoring includes a valid MD5 signature, correct permissions, ownership of the file, and an existence of the file. If any modification are made to the data entities, then the system daemon generates an alarm (intended for the administrator of the host) that an intrusion has taken place. Once an intrusion is detected, then the isolating steps or commands are issued in a real-time continuous manner to protect the host system from attack or intrusion.

  • Publication number: 20090183227
Abstract: Method for ensuring security of online content on a client device. Online content is rendered on a display on the client device and the client device stores one or more policies each defining an execution boundary of a web script content. The execution boundary defines resource access of the web script content, and the web script content is configured to issue an execution invocation to interact with other portions of the online content. The issued execution invocation is intercepted and parameters included in the intercepted execution invocation are identified. The identified parameters request resources from an application or the client device for interacting with the other portions of the online content. The identified parameters are evaluated against the execution boundary of each of the policies stored in the client device. A dynamic resolution is provided to the web script content in response to the evaluating.

  • Publication number: 20090183171
Abstract: System of evaluating security of script content. A processor executes computer-executable instructions for defining a policy for the script content in a web page. The script content provides interactions between a user and other content within the web page. The defined policy indicates an execution boundary of the script content. The processor further evaluates the script content against the execution boundary in the defined policy. At run time, the processor transforms at least a portion of the web page in response to the evaluating. An interface transmits the web page with the transformed portion of the script content to be rendered in an application on a host device.

  • Publication number: 20090165924
Abstract: A method for forming a ceramic matrix composite (CMC) component for gas turbine engines. The method contemplates replacing a plurality of plies with insert material. The insert material can be partially cured or pre-cured and applied in place of a plurality of small plies or it may be inserted into cavities of a component in the form of a paste or a ply. The insert material is isotropic, being formed of a combination of matrix material and chopped fibers, tow, cut plies or combinations thereof. The use of the insert material allows for features such as thin edges with thicknesses of less than about 0.030 inches and small radii such as found in corners. The CMC components of the present invention replace small ply inserts cut to size to fit into areas of contour change or thickness change, and replace the small ply inserts with a fabricated single piece discontinuously reinforced composite insert, resulting in fewer defects, such as wrinkles, and better dimensional control.

  • Publication number: 20090150165
Abstract: An encoding data processing apparatus generates a marked version of an audio signal provided on an audio channel. The marked copy is generated by embedding data representative of a payload data word into the audio signal. The encoding data processing apparatus comprises a code word generator operable to generate a water mark code word from the payload data word and to read data representing the water mark code word into a shuffle data store. A shuffle processor is operable to generate pseudo randomly at least one address within an address space of the shuffle data store for each predetermined period and to read data representing part or parts of the water mark code word out from the data store at locations identified by the randomly generated address, and a data embedding processor operable to receive the audio signal and to embed the data representing the part or parts of the water mark code word read out from the shuffle data store into the audio signal for each predetermined period.

  • Patent number: 7545225
Abstract: An oscillator is described. The oscillator includes segments of two-conductor transmission line being connected together by an odd number of connection means to form a closed loop. A plurality of current switches is connected to the conductors of the segments and a high impedance element, such as an inductor or transmission line, is connected to a conductor of at least one segment. The high impedance element sources current into the closed loop and the current switches sink current from one or the other of the conductors of the loop depending on the state of the switch. The switches cause a wave to be established and maintained on the loop and the wave changes the state of the switches as it oscillates. One embodiment of the switches employs npn transistors whose emitters are connected to a current source and another uses NMOS transistors.

  • Publication number: 20090142496
Abstract: A method for fabricating a reinforced matrix composite comprising the step of providing a composite preform having a fibrous structure and applying matrix material onto the preform in locations along the preform. A barrier material is applied to at least a portion of the coated preform to direct the flow of matrix material into the preform. The composite preform is heated to a temperature sufficient to render the matrix material viscous and insufficient to cure the matrix material. The pressure to the interior of the composite preform is reduced, while the pressure to the barrier material is increased. The temperature is maintained to flow the matrix material into the composite preform and to force gases from the fibrous structure. The composite preform is then cured and cooled to form a reinforced matrix composite having a low void content and a substantially uniform matrix distribution.
