  • Patent number: 10203499
Abstract: A holographic display image projector system including an input light source for generating an at least partially coherent optical input beam and an imaging system for transforming an image representation in the Fourier domain into a corresponding holographic image in the spatial domain. The image projector includes a spatial light modulator having a reflective phase manipulating surface and being responsive to an electric control signal to generate a two-dimensional phase profile on the reflective phase manipulation surface to diffract the optical input beam into a diffracted beam having a plurality of diffraction components angularly separated in a first dimension. A coupling prism having a first surface positioned such that a first subset of the diffraction components is refracted through the first surface to the imaging system, wherein upon refraction, an angular separation of the first subset of diffraction components is increased by at least a factor of 2.

  • Patent number: 10198577
Abstract: A hack-proof computer interface between a public-side operating system and a private-side operating system utilizing a “King's food taster” approach. A public-side operating system is exposed to the outside world, while a private-side operating system is isolated from the outside world except through the hack-proof interface. This effectively prevents infection of the private-side operating system with viruses or other computer malware from the outside world. The hack-proof interface includes a bitmap-coupled interface, such as a camera capturing a video image of the visible computer screen public-side operating system. A security device, such as a video scrambler or security lens, distorts or decimates the video image sufficiently to prevent active virus code from passing through the bitmap-coupled interface.

  • Patent number: 10151899
Abstract: A flat drop cable has notches or other structures for enhancing the stripability of the jacket from the a core of the flat drop cable. The notches can have an angled configuration with surfaces that converge as the notch extends into the jacket. Inner edges of the notches can be positioned along a tear path that intersects the core of the flat drop cable. For example, the notches can be offset from a minor axis of the flat drop cable a sufficient distance such that the notches are positioned outside a central boundary region that extends tangent to sides of the core and parallel to the minor axis of the flat drop cable.

  • Patent number: 10152329
Abstract: One embodiment of the present disclosure sets forth an optimized way to execute pre-scheduled replay operations for divergent operations in a parallel processing subsystem. Specifically, a streaming multiprocessor (SM) includes a multi-stage pipeline configured to insert pre-scheduled replay operations into a multi-stage pipeline. A pre-scheduled replay unit detects whether the operation associated with the current instruction is accessing a common resource. If the threads are accessing data which are distributed across multiple cache lines, then the pre-scheduled replay unit inserts pre-scheduled replay operations behind the current instruction. The multi-stage pipeline executes the instruction and the associated pre-scheduled replay operations sequentially. If additional threads remain unserviced after execution of the instruction and the pre-scheduled replay operations, then additional replay operations are inserted via the replay loop, until all threads are serviced.

  • Publication number: 20180317615
Abstract: A wrist-worn device clasp that secures a strap of the wrist-worn device. A first mechanical part of the wrist worn device interlocks with a second mechanical part by motion in a first plane in order to resist motion perpendicular to said first plane. The first mechanical part also inhibits a first securing part and a second securing part being separated by tension along the strap substantially perpendicular to the first plane when the first mechanical part and second mechanical part are engaged with each other. The first securing part and the second securing part inhibit separation of the first mechanical part and the second mechanical part by motion parallel to the first plane when they are engaged with each other by motion perpendicular to the first plane.

  • Publication number: 20180324822
Abstract: Embodiments of the present application propose a feedback method for an uplink channel, and an apparatus. In the solution, instead of always sending a first common message or a first scheduling command in any case, a base station determines, only after determining whether a data packet to be sent by a terminal is the last data packet of the terminal, whether a to-be-sent message including an indication bit that is used to indicate whether the base station correctly receives the data packet sent by the terminal is the first scheduling command or the first common message. Alternatively, when the base station determines that the terminal needs to send a next data packet or needs to retransmit the data packet, an indication bit for the terminal in at least two indication bits is used to indicate uplink control information. Therefore, this avoids a waste of resources.

  • Publication number: 20180291492
Abstract: Titanium alloys formed into a part or component used in applications where a key design criterion is the energy absorbed during deformation of the part when exposed to impact, explosive blast, and/or other forms of shock loading is described. The titanium alloys generally comprise a titanium base with added amounts of aluminum, an isomorphous beta stabilizing element such as vanadium, a eutectoid beta stabilizing element such as silicon and iron, and incidental impurities. The titanium alloys exhibit up to 70% or more improvement in ductility and up to a 16% improvement in ballistic impact resistance over a Ti-6Al-4V alloy, as well as absorbing up to 50% more energy than the Ti-6Al-4V alloy in Charpy impact tests. A method of forming a part that incorporates the titanium alloys and uses a combination of recycled materials and new materials is also described.
