  • Patent number: 10093965
Abstract: A system for preparing and analyzing a sample of biological material, including a test cartridge having a first housing defining a flow-through chamber, a second housing defining a central space within which the first housing is at least partially located. The first housing is rotatable relative to the second housing, and the second housing defines a plurality of circumferentially spaced chambers, one of the chambers having an inlet for receiving a sample, at least one of the chambers containing a liquid reagent, and at least one of the chambers comprising an analysis module, the chambers of the second housing each having an opening into the central space. The first housing has one or more openings into the central space so that openings can be selectively aligned with one of the openings into the chambers of the second housing by relative rotation of the first housing and second housings.

  • Patent number: 10095548
Abstract: One embodiment of the present disclosure sets forth an effective way to maintain fairness and order in the scheduling of common resource access requests related to replay operations. Specifically, a streaming multiprocessor (SM) includes a total order queue (TOQ) configured to schedule the access requests over one or more execution cycles. Access requests are allowed to make forward progress when needed common resources have been allocated to the request. Where multiple access requests require the same common resource, priority is given to the older access request. Access requests may be placed in a sleep state pending availability of certain common resources. Deadlock may be avoided by allowing an older access request to steal resources from a younger resource request. One advantage of the disclosed technique is that older common resource access requests are not repeatedly blocked from making forward progress by newer access requests.

  • Patent number: 10051928
Abstract: A wrist-worn device clasp that secures a strap of the wrist-worn device. A first mechanical part of the wrist worn device interlocks with a second mechanical part by motion in a first plane in order to resist motion perpendicular to said first plane. The first mechanical part also inhibits a first securing part and a second securing part being separated by tension along the strap substantially perpendicular to the first plane when the first mechanical part and second mechanical part are engaged with each other. The first securing part and the second securing part inhibit separation of the first mechanical part and the second mechanical part by motion parallel to the first plane when they are engaged with each other by motion perpendicular to the first plane.

  • Publication number: 20180228363
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are presented for obtaining high-resolution 3-D images of a sample over a range of wavelengths, optionally with polarisation-sensitive detection. In preferred embodiments a spectral domain OCT apparatus is used to sample the complex field of light reflected or scattered from a sample, providing full range imaging. In certain embodiments structured illumination is utilised to provide enhanced lateral resolution. In certain embodiments the resolution or depth of field of images is enhanced by digital refocusing or digital correction of aberrations in the sample. Individual sample volumes are imaged using single shot techniques, and larger volumes can be imaged by stitching together images of adjacent volumes.

  • Publication number: 20180234707
Abstract: A controller device in communication with service delivery devices of an aircraft in-flight entertainment (IFE) system receives objective information associated with an aircraft comprising the aircraft IFE system. The controller device also receives subjective passenger information associated with a passenger of the aircraft. A service is determined to deliver to the passenger during a flight on the aircraft based on the received objective and subjective passenger information. A service delivery device is identified among the service delivery devices of the aircraft that is associated with a seat assigned to the passenger or determined to be operated by the passenger. The controller controls delivery of the determined service to the identified service delivery device.

  • Publication number: 20180230853
Abstract: A method for controlling a gas turbine engine is provided. The method includes determining if a potential icing condition exists, for example, by determining whether a corrected fan speed percentage is below a predetermined fan speed threshold. If a potential icing condition exists, a fuel regulator may operate according to a first control algorithm by restricting the flow of fuel to the engine if the corrected core speed percentage of the core engine exceeds a predetermined core speed threshold. If a potential icing condition does not exist such that the fan section and core engine of the gas turbine engine are operating normally, the fuel regulator may operating according to a second control algorithm that does not include such a hard compressor speed limit.

  • Patent number: 10041252
Abstract: A sleeve lock locks concrete reinforcing steel bars within rigid support structure retainers for stabilizing the reinforcing bars in place, while allowing the bars to spin freely within sleeves or holes within the retainers. The sleeve locks are stable couplings holding concrete reinforcing bars in position while allowing the bars to spin within the couplings. This reduces the need for tightening locks or fasteners at elevated heights of vertically positioned concrete reinforcing steel bars.
