  • Patent number: 8493619
Abstract: Methods for mapping color data having at least one color associated therewith to an output device based on an input-device profile and an output-device profile, each profile having a tone curve and a color matrix, are provided. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving color data from an input device and determining whether the color data is in a linear space. If it is determined that the color data is not in a linear space, the method further includes applying the tone curve of the input device profile to the color data to convert it into a linear space. The method further includes converting the color(s) associated with the color data from the input linear space to an output linear space by applying the color matrix of the input device profile and the inverse color matrix of the output device profile to create color-converted image data.

  • Publication number: 20130179307
Abstract: Methods and systems for restocking inventory. Machine readable code associated with a product that is part of a stockroom inventory is scanned with a mobile device. Based on data in the machine readable code, the mobile device obtains data relating to the product via a wireless network and displays the data to the user. The data may include product images, details, prices, marketing promotions, regulatory or safety media, and other data that is retrieved from an updated database. The mobile device may also populate an order amount window with a desired amount of the product to be ordered based on known and desired inventory levels. Products may be added to an order and the order placed or saved for later submission though the mobile device based on the displayed data.

  • Publication number: 20130159684
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth an optimized way to execute replay operations for divergent operations in a parallel processing subsystem. Specifically, the streaming multiprocessor (SM) includes a multistage pipeline configured to batch two or more replay operations for processing via replay loop. A logic element within the multistage pipeline detects whether the current pipeline stage is accessing a shared resource, such as loading data from a shared memory. If the threads are accessing data which are distributed across multiple cache lines, then the multistage pipeline batches two or more replay operations, where the replay operations are inserted into the pipeline back-to-back. Advantageously, divergent operations requiring two or more replay operations operate with reduced latency. Where memory access operations require transfer of more than two cache lines to service all threads, the number of clock cycles required to complete all replay operations is reduced.

  • Patent number: 8459850
Abstract: An interior light assembly for use in a vehicle includes a housing having a light transmission end constructed to pass light out of the housing. A light source is located in the housing and arranged to emit light in a direction to pass out of the light transmission end of the housing. A visor extends from the light transmission end of the housing for blocking light from the light source in directions transverse to the light transmission end of the housing into a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The visor has an end remote from the housing shaped to engage a windshield of the vehicle. The visor may be pivotably mounted on the housing to facilitate flush engagement of the remote visor end with the windshield. The visor can flare outwardly from the housing to the remote end so light can be seen at greater off-angles by persons outside the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8459587
Abstract: A winder for winding a web to produce a rolled product is provided. The winder includes a web transport apparatus that is used for conveying the web. Also included in one exemplary embodiment is a plurality of independent winding modules. The winding modules are independently positioned to independently engage the web as the web is conveyed by the web transport apparatus. The winding modules may be configured to wind the web to form a rolled product by center winding, surface winding, and combinations of center and surface winding. The winding modules are structurally and operationally independent of one another where if one module is disabled, another may still operate to produce the rolled product without shutting down the winder.

  • Patent number: 8463843
Abstract: In a system where transactions are accelerated with asynchronous writes that require acknowledgements, with pre-acknowledging writes at a source of the writes, a destination-side transaction accelerator includes a queue for queue writes to a destination, at least some of the writes being pre-acknowledged by a source-side transaction accelerator prior to the write completing at the destination, a memory for storing a status of a destination-side queue and possibly other determinants, and logic for signaling to the source-side transaction accelerator with instructions to alter pre-acknowledgement rules to hold off on and pursue pre-acknowledgements based on the destination-side queue status. The rules can take into account adjusting the flow of pre-acknowledged requests or pre-acknowledgements at the sender-side transaction accelerator based at least on the computed logical length.

  • Publication number: 20130070326
Abstract: Described herein is an optical phase modulator (20) including a liquid crystal element (22), disposed between a pair of opposing electrodes (24) and (26). The electrodes (24, 26) are electrically driven for supplying an electric potential V across the liquid crystal element (22) to drive the liquid crystals within element (22) in a predetermined configuration. Electrode (26) includes a grid of individually drivable pixel regions (28), at least some of which include a sub-wavelength grating structure that provides an anisotropic refractive index profile in orthogonal lateral dimensions, thereby creating an effective material form birefringence. Light incident through liquid crystal element (22) and onto electrode (26) is reflected and experiences a relative phase difference of 180° between its constituent orthogonal polarization components, thereby rotating each polarization component into the orthogonal orientation upon reflection.
