  • Patent number: 7021370
Abstract: A heat exchanger having fins disposed adjacent to each other with tubes passing through the fins to interconnect the fins. Louvers are formed in each of the fins with each louver extending at an angle with respect to the fins. An upstream portion of the interconnected fins define an incoming airflow side of the heat exchanger and a downstream portion of the interconnected fins define an outgoing airflow side of the heat exchanger. The louvers define a first bank of louvers formed in each of the upstream portions of the fins facing the incoming airflow side of the heat exchanger. The louvers also define a second bank of louvers formed in each of the downstream portions of the fins facing the incoming airflow side of the heat exchanger. Hence, all of the louvers on the fins are facing the same direction for minimizing the air pressure drop, while increasing a heat transfer between the fins, tubes, and the air flow.

  • Patent number: 6964357
Abstract: A stable upright fluid dispensing container in which a fluid is dispensed from the top of the container while the container remains in an upright position. The bulk of the fluid always remains in the bottom of the container. A passageway tube and a plunger apply pressure on the fluid. Knobs on the plunger can include horizontal knob gears, vertical knob gears or push button rack gears. Pressure can also be applied to the fluid by a non-rotating threaded passageway tube having a fixed plunger and a rotating threaded knob. In flexible sealed containers pressure can be applied to the fluid by providing a flexible sealed container, a non-threaded passageway tube and one-way check valve. These features provide increased pressure such that the fluid will be forced to flow into a passageway tube through an entrance opening at the bottom of the passageway tube, up through the tube and out an exit opening. Further, once pressure is relaxed, the fluid flow will stop and the fluid will remain in the passageway tube.

  • Patent number: 6925488
Abstract: Methods and systems for efficient and effective distribution of system management messages between customer and service provider sites are provided. Customer sites each recognize characteristics of the content of messages distributed by the system and receive only messages relevant to the customer site. System dynamic changes are adapted to such as inter-site communication link interruption or congestion and providing seamless automated information technologies operations during these system dynamic changes. Automated management services are only postponed until such communication link can be restored. Two illustrative embodiments are provided. In one embodiment, system management resides at the service provider site with local system management backup at the customer site. In a second embodiment, system management resides at both the service provider site and customer site.

  • Publication number: 20050040506
Abstract: A system for fabricating semiconductor components includes mating mold cavity plates having mold cavities configured to mold body segments of the semiconductor components on either side of a leadframe. The mold cavity plates also include runners configured to direct molding compound between the mold cavities and into the corners of the mold cavities. The runners prevent trapped air from accumulating in the corners of the mold cavities, and eliminate the need for air vents in the corners. The mold cavity plates also include dummy mold cavities configured to form dummy segments on the leadframe, and air vents in flow communication with the dummy segments. The dummy mold cavities are configured to collect trapped air, and to direct the trapped air through the air vents to atmosphere. Each dummy mold cavity has only a single associated air vent, such that cleaning is facilitated, and flash particles from the air vents are reduced.

  • Patent number: 6841522
Abstract: This invention relates to lubricant compositions comprising a polyalkylene glycol and an ester wherein the polyalkylene glycol has the formula (I): RO—(CH2CH(CH3)O)n—CH3 where R is an alkyl group with 1 to 15 carbon atoms and n=1 to 35. The lubricant compositions of the invention do not readily form stable emulsions with water. This feature makes the lubricant compositions of the invention particularly suitable for use with air compressors where it is very difficult to exclude moisture.

  • Publication number: 20040245841
Abstract: A seating unit includes a perimeter frame, a flexible seating surface supported by the frame, and parallel elongated resilient force-distributing members coupled to the seating surface to control a contour of the seating surface when supporting a seated user. The resilient force-distributing members are bendable along their length and are sufficient in number and distribution to substantially reduce localized deflection of the seating surface and thereby reduce pressure point contact felt by the seated user. The resilient force-distributing members can be wire rods, long strips, or other resilient material with memory.

  • Publication number: 20040214051
Abstract: A hybrid structure (50) and method of manufacturing the same including a structural ceramic matrix composite (CMC) material (42) coated with a layer of ceramic insulating tiles (24). Individual ceramic tiles are attached to a surface (22) of a mold (20). The exterior surface (32) of the tiles may be subjected to a mechanical process such as machining with the mold in place to provide mechanical support for the tiles. A layer of CMC material is then applied to bond the tiles and the CMC material together into a hybrid structure. The mold may include a fugitive material portion (26) to facilitate removal of the mold when the hybrid structure has a complex shape. Tiles located in different regions of the structure may have different compositions and/or dimensions. The gaps between adjacent tiles may be filled from the outside before the CMC material is applied or from the inside after the mold is removed.
