For each of the facial recognition categories assigned to the face region, the input image (24) is processed with each of the feature extraction modules (66) associated with the facial recognition category to produce a respective facial region descriptor vector of facial region descriptor values characterizing the face region. A recognition result (96) between the face region and a reference face image (28) is determined based on application of the one or more facial recognition matching modules (76) associated with the facial recognition categories assigned to the face region to the facial region descriptor vectors produced for the face region detected in the input image (24).

Abstract: A method for finding a temporal face sequence (412) includes, with a physical computing system (100), analyzing frames within a shot within a video, applying a face detection function to the frames, and in response to detecting a face within one of the frames, tracing a person associated with the face both backwards and forwards through frames within the shot. A temporal face sequence (412) is then defined as a sequence of frames that include frames within the shot spanning when the person is shown.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media with executable instructions, and/or logic are provided for clothing search in images. An example method of clothing search in images can include characterizing clothing within a plurality of reference images using a processor, and characterizing clothing within a query image using a processor. A number of the plurality of reference images having clothing with similar color features as clothing of the query image is identified using a processor. A subset of the identified number of the plurality of reference images having clothing with predefined non-color attributes as clothing of the query image are selected using a processor.

Abstract: A system for web-based video browsing includes a web server and a web client. The web server and the web client cooperatively provide a set of video browsing functions. The video browsing functions enable a user of the web client to browse a source video and select a video frame from the source video. The distribution of the video browsing functions between the web server and the web client may be adapted to a communication speed between the web server and the web client.

Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure may include methods, systems, and computer readable media with executable instructions. An example method for retrieving visual media can include receiving a text query associated with a target content. A first group of visual media is identified based on correspondence of metadata of the visual media with the text query, and keyframes from the first group of identified visual media are selected. The method further includes detecting instances of a content type in the selected keyframes, and grouping similar instances of the content type into clusters. The target content is associated with a cluster having a greatest quantity of similar instances.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media with executable instructions, and/or logic are provided for incremental image clustering. An example method for incremental image clustering can include identifying, via a computing device, a number of candidate nodes from among evaluated leaf image cluster (LIC) nodes on an image cluster tree (ICT) based on a similarity between a feature of a new image and an average feature of each of the evaluated LIC nodes. The evaluated nodes include at least one node along each path from a root node to either a leaf node or a node having a similarity exceeding a first threshold. A most-similar node can be determined, via the computing device, from among the number of candidate nodes. The new image can be inserted to a node associated with the determined most-similar node, via the computing device.

For each of the images, a set of names associated with the image is identified based on a text analysis of at least one of the web pages. Face detection and clustering is performed on the plurality of images to generate a plurality of face clusters. For each of the face clusters, a label for the face cluster is identified based on the set of names associated with each image in the face cluster. A name of a first person appearing in at least one of the images is determined based on the identified label for one of the face clusters associated with the first person.

An example system includes a memory for storing computer executable instructions, and a processing unit for accessing the memory and executing the computer executable instructions. The computer executable instructions include an age class estimator to classify a plurality of images of the individual into age classes, each age class corresponding to an interval of age, and each image having a known time stamp, a probability determination engine to determine, for each age class, a value of class probability that an image in the collection falls within the age class, an age determination engine to determine a transition time based on the values of class probability and the known time stamp, and to determine the estimated age of the individual based on the determined transition time.

Abstract: Non-volatile storage elements having a reversible resistivity-switching element and techniques for fabricating the same are disclosed herein. The reversible resistivity-switching element may be formed by depositing an oxygen diffusion resistant material (e.g., heavily doped Si, W, WN) over the top electrode. A trap passivation material (e.g., fluorine, nitrogen, hydrogen, deuterium) may be incorporated into one or more of the bottom electrode, a metal oxide region, or the top electrode of the reversible resistivity-switching element. One embodiment includes a reversible resistivity-switching element having a bi-layer capping layer between the metal oxide and the top electrode. Fabricating the device may include depositing (un-reacted) titanium and depositing titanium oxide in situ without air break. One embodiment includes incorporating titanium into the metal oxide of the reversible resistivity-switching element.
