  • Publication number: 20020004760
Abstract: When a user does shopping on a commodity purchase screen provided by a shop via the Internet, the user uses a payment reservation service provided by a claim management server. Then, the claim management server stores the shopping content of the user as a database and simultaneously stores both a payment amount and a settled/unsettled payment status in the shopping contents. The user views the list of unsettled payment of the shopping content provided by the claim management server, selects a shopping item, the price payment of which the user is going to settle, designates an account handling institute to use and settles payment online. The claim management server automatically does the check work of the shopping content, the price payment of which is settled.

  • Publication number: 20010042875
Abstract: A high-concentration light-receiving N-layer 32 is formed by ion implantation in a region near a substrate surface, and a low-concentration N-type epitaxial layer 25 is formed by epitaxial growth in a deeper region. The depletion layer of a photodiode is thus expanded to a deep portion of the substrate by the low-concentration N-type region 25, by which a photoelectric conversion effect on incident light of a long wavelength is increased to improve sensitivity. In the above stage, a deepest potential portion is formed on the substrate surface side. Therefore, a depletion voltage can be prevented from rising. Further, an intermediate-concentration N-type epitaxial layer 23 and a high-concentration N-type epitaxial layer 22 are formed in a stack of two layers by epitaxial growth in a region deeper than a region in which a first P-type layer 24, or a barrier region is formed, by which a shutter voltage can be prevented from rising.

  • Publication number: 20010032988
Abstract: A CCD area sensor has an effective pixel region for detecting optical information of a subject and an ineffective pixel region for detecting optical black. On a light-receiving region in the ineffective pixel region, a light shielding film is provided with an opening portion. This enables hydrogen ions to be sufficiently diffused from a passivation film made of a P-SiN film toward a silicon substrate in a hydrogen annealing process even though the light shielding film is made of a material such as a high-melting point metal of TiW that is hard for hydrogen ions to penetrate. As a result, interface state densities in a light-receiving region and a transfer channel region are reduced, and a dark-time output voltage of the ineffective pixel region is reduced to be equivalent to that of the effective pixel region. Thus, no difference occurs between the effective pixel region and the ineffective pixel region in terms of the black level.

  • Patent number: 5947046
Abstract: What prevents high-speed navigation of a large-scale high speed ship in waves is ship oscillation. The concept of the invention has been derived from an idea to control a ship oscillationless longitudinally with small-size fins by providing the ship with struts being formed to have a value of longitudinal metacentric height such that the value of statical restoring moment due to the longitudinal metacentric height ("self-stability moment") does not exceed the value of Munk's instability moment ("Munk moment"). Therefore, a residual Munk moment of negative value as the sum of "Self-stability moment" having a positive value and "Munk moment" having a negative value, is reserved. The ship is characterized by using the controlling effects of the control fin besides designing the strut by taking into account the self-stability moment and the Munk moment.

  • Patent number: 5875366
Abstract: Photo film (15) has pairs of perforations (21) arranged at a regular pitch (L1+L2). A photo film advancing device for advancing the photo film by the regular pitch (L1+L2) has a take-up spool (23), which winds the photo film after each exposure. A rotatable sprocket wheel (26, 68, 80, 83, 90) has a circular peripheral face (27, 71, 80c, 87, 93) with first and second teeth. The first (25a, 68a, 80a, 85b, 91a) and second teeth (25b, 68b, 80b, 85a, 91b) engage the respective perforations. A wind stop claw (36a) locks the sprocket wheel to prevent the photo film from advancing when the first and/or second perforation is engaged with the first and/or second tooth. The wind stop claw unlocks the sprocket wheel when a shutter (44) operates. While unlocked, the sprocket wheel is rotated a small amount by advancement of the photo film, to move the second tooth away from the second perforation. The peripheral face of the sprocket wheel frictionally contacts the photo film.

  • Patent number: 5740262
Abstract: An arrangement for noise removal according to the present invention includes a microphone and an acoustic high-pass filter positioned in front of the microphone and consisting of the combination of an acoustic resistance, an acoustic compliance and an inertance. According to the invention, the acoustic resistance is composed of nonwoven fabric; the acoustic compliance, of a cavity; and the inertance, of a thin cavity connected to said cavity. This acoustic high-pass filter reduces unpleasant noise which arises from the microphone when a low-frequency high-pressure air stream, such as the speaker's breath, hits the mouthpiece of the telephone.

  • Patent number: 5699423
Abstract: In a telephone set having a receiver (42) and a loudspeaker (39), a switch circuit (37) selects supply of a reception speech signal, transmitted from a counterpart section (60), to the receiver or the loudspeaker in response to a selection signal. A first adaptive echo canceller (43a) produces a pseudo echo signal with reference to the reception speech signal. A controller (44) controls operation of the first adaptive echo canceller in response to the selection signal to optimize the pseudo echo signal. A first digital adder (35a) carries out a particular calculation between the pseudo echo signal and a transmission speech signal, relating to the transmission sound supplied to a microphone (46). The adder produces a particular calculation result signal representative of a result of the particular calculation. In accordance with the particular calculation result signal, a transmission is carried out towards the counterpart section.
