  • Patent number: 5658865
Abstract: A lubricating oil composition which comprises one or more base oils of the group consisting of (A) a mineral oil having a kinematic viscosity of 5-200 m.sup.2 /s at 40.degree. C. and an aromatics content of less than 15 percent by weight, (B) an olefinic polymer of 2-16 carbon atoms or its hydride having a number-average molecular weight of 250-4,000, and (C) an alkylbenzene having 1-4 alkyl groups of 1-40 carbon atoms and a total carbon number of said alkyl groups in the range of 6-40, said base oil or oils being blended with a 3-methyl-5-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl-substituted fatty acid ester in an amount of 0.1-5.0 percent by weight based on total composition. The inventive lubricant composition having such a base oil in combination with the specified fatty acid ester provides a synergistic effect conducive to inhibition or prevention of both oxidation and sludge formation while in use under elevated temperature conditions over extended periods of time.

  • Patent number: 5630014
Abstract: A gain controller for use in mobile telephone system is disclosed. It is judged whether digital input data includes speech data or not. When the digital input data includes speech data, an integration energy value of the digital speech data for a predetermined time length is measured. The measured integration energy value is compared with a higher threshold value and a lower threshold value. A step level is set to a predetermined minus value, a predetermined plus value and "0" when the integration energy value is higher than the higher threshold value, lower than the lower threshold value and within a range between the higher and lower threshold values, respectively. The obtained step level is then added to the digital speech data.

  • Patent number: 5617472
Abstract: A telephone set comprises a noise detector, a noise level determining circuit, and a noise canceler. The noise detector detects a noise component from a transmitting acoustic signal by detecting signal recurrence of the transmitting acoustic signal. The noise level determining circuit determines a noise level by comparing the noise component with a first threshold. According to the noise level, the noise canoelet cancels the noise component from the transmitting acoustic signal when the noise level is not smaller than the first threshold. The telephone set further comprises a frequency characteristics controller for a received acoustic signal to obtain a desired speech articulation. The frequency characteristics controller, based on the noise level, determines a level change region, a level change value, and a level change direction of the spectrum of the received acoustic signal.

  • Patent number: 5610525
Abstract: In communication equipment which uses a battery as the power supply, when a controller increases the transmission power at a transmitter corresponding to a drop in the electric field intensity, the controller lowers, accompanying that operation, a reference voltage from a reference voltage source which is used for comparison with the battery voltage for the purpose of detecting a drop in the battery capacity. Therefore, even when the battery voltage is dropped due to an increase in the transmission output, the reference voltage is also lowered correspondingly, so that there will not occur an erroneous detection of drop in the battery capacity due to the drop in the battery voltage.

  • Patent number: 5608324
Abstract: A controller of a card radio modem connectable to a data terminal measures two kinds of a battery voltage under a different load condition of the card radio modem. The controller determines the kind of battery and detects the remaining time of accuracy, based on the kind of the battery. In addition, the controller calculates an available capacity of a file data to be transmitted and received during the remaining time. When the available capacity is smaller than a capacity which is necessary to transmit and receive, the controller generates an alarm to inform an operator. The controller displays the available capacity or remaining time on a display.

  • Patent number: 5581316
Abstract: The present invention provides a camera enabling effective use of parts retrieved from a used lens-mounted film. Members retrieved from a lens-mounted film and responsible for film feed and release operation; such as, a sprocket, a sprocket axis with a charge cam attached, a drive lever, and a locking lever are mounted in a camera as they are. A release mechanism is included to release a frame stop state set for frame-by-frame film feed and a state in which the turn of a film wind knob is disabled, whereby film rewind is enabled. A strobe circuit board containing a strobe flashing unit and a control circuit is recycled for a camera permitting film rewind. In this case, a flashing capacitor mounted on the retrieved strobe circuit board is angled at lead wires so that the flashing capacitor can be placed in any state different from the one in a lens-mounted film.

  • Patent number: 5530767
Abstract: A reception volume limiting circuit includes a detecting section, an A/D conversion section, a control section, and a speech data calculating section. The detecting section performs detection/rectification and smoothing of a receiver driving AC signal and outputs a DC signal corresponding to the level of the receiver driving AC signal. The A/D conversion section converts the DC signal into a digital signal. The control section calculates a time average value by averaging the digital signal every predetermined time interval, adds the currently stored attenuation amount to the time average value, and compares the time average value with a predetermined threshold value representing a critical sound pressure for protection of listener's hearing.

  • Patent number: 4986204
Abstract: An oscillationless semisubmerged high-speed vessel comprises at least one lower hull submerged below the water surface in the cruising state of the vessel, an upper hull above the water surface and struts connecting the lower hull and an upper hull. The lower hull possesses horizontal fins controlling longitudinal and transverse oscillations of the vessel, steering devices, water ballast tanks for adjusting water line of the vessel and propelling means. The struts are so designed that the water plane area is small so as to minimize the oscillation force, i.e. the vessel does not have a self-stabilizing ability both longitudinally and transversely with only reverse buoyancy kept by the struts when the vessel heels. The struts are constructed to have a sufficient strength for connection of the lower hull and an upper hill. The bulged structures are constructed to contain the propelling means.
